FinOps Consultant
Position description
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced FinOps and Cloud Cost Management Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing cloud costs, implementing FinOps practices, and ensuring financial efficiency in cloud operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud financial management and a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure.
 

Business qualifications

• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and cost optimization within cloud environments
• Ability to develop and execute financial strategies that align with business objectives and drive cost efficiency
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with IT, finance, and business teams to achieve financial goals
• Expertise in analyzing financial data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and making data-driven decisions
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and influence stakeholders to adopt best practices in cloud cost management

Technical qualifications

• 5-7 Years of experience in implementing FinOps principles and practices to optimize cloud spending and drive financial accountability 
• Experience with cloud cost reduction initiatives and strategy
• Experience with implementing Apptio Cloudability for clients is preferred
• In-depth knowledge of major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their cost structures
• Proficiency in using cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Cost Management) to monitor and control expenses
• Strong skills in data analysis and reporting, using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field 
• Relevant certifications (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) are a plus
• Proficiency in cloud platforms, financial management software, and data analysis tools
• Client-focused attitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey financial information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically about cost optimization
• Strong to expert skills in data analysis/manipulation
• Knowledge of enterprise IT organizational, business, and technical environments
• Strong English written/ oral skills
