Senior Microsoft Project Server Consultant – Consulting
EY GDS Consulting digital, seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft Project Server Consultant to join our Digital engineering Consulting team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver cutting-edge solutions to clients across various industries, leveraging your expertise in Microsoft Project Server, SharePoint, and EPM.
The opportunity
We’re looking for professionals with deep expertise in Microsoft Project Server, including both functional and technical capabilities, to join our Digital engineering Consulting team. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the growth of our service offerings while working on high-impact, complex projects.
Your key responsibilities
- Consultation and Solution Design: Provide strategic guidance and best practices for implementing Microsoft Project Server and EPM solutions across diverse business environments.
- Project Management Expertise: Design and implement enterprise-level project management solutions that integrate with existing tools and processes.
- Technical Implementation: Lead the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Project Server, ensuring seamless integration with SharePoint and other enterprise systems.
- Customization and Development: Develop custom solutions using PowerShell, C#, .NET, and JavaScript to enhance functionality and meet client-specific requirements.
- Integration and Reporting: Build and manage integrations between Project Server and other systems, while leveraging Power BI and SSRS for reporting and data visualization.
- Estimation and Planning: Provide detailed estimations for complex EPM projects, managing resources, timelines, and deliverables for large-scale implementations.
- Client Support: Offer ongoing support and optimization services to clients, addressing troubleshooting issues and providing guidance on best practices.
- Training & Mentorship: Develop training materials and provide hands-on training to clients and internal teams to ensure successful adoption of Project Server solutions.
Skills and attributes
- 7 to 9 years of experience in Microsoft Project Server, with a focus on both functional and technical consulting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project Server (2016, 2019 or later) and SharePoint integration.
- Proficient in PowerShell, C#, .NET, and JavaScript for customizations and extensions to Project Server functionality.
- Expertise in project estimation and planning, with a proven track record in delivering complex EPM projects.
- Solid understanding of EPM processes such as resource management, portfolio management, scheduling, and reporting.
- In depth knowledge on EPM reporting, OLAP database management & creating new cubes.
- Knowledge on created a highly available architecture with multiple web front-end, application servers & SQL servers.
- Experience in Project web app, security, views, tasks, time sheets, portfolio management, drivers
- Knowledge of SharePoint, Project server workflows & rest API
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams to deliver solutions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- 7+ years of experience in Microsoft Project Server and related technologies (SharePoint, Power BI, SSRS).
- Experience in integration of Project Server with other enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, etc.).
- Knowledge of cloud-based solutions, such as Microsoft Project for the Web and Project Online, is a plus.
- Microsoft Certification in Project Server or related Microsoft technologies is preferred.
- Experience with agile project management methodologies is a plus.
- Strong functional and technical expertise in EPM, Microsoft Project Server, SharePoint, and associated technologies.
- Experience in providing consultation, estimation, and implementation services for large-scale EPM projects.
- Excellent communication skills, with prior experience in a client-facing consulting
