We are seeking a Mainframe Application Development Engineer with experience in the Banking Domain at EY GDS. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that support EY's efforts in enhancing and maintaining client workloads, with a focus on legacy systems. Collaboration with development teams will be essential to build, deploy, and manage applications that align with business objectives and enhance our Banking services. Additionally, there will be opportunities to support EY's efforts in modernizing client workloads from legacy systems. The Digital Engineering (DE) practice works with clients to analyse, formulate, design, mobilize and drive digital transformation initiatives. We advise clients on their most pressing digital challenges and opportunities surround business strategy, customer, growth, profit optimization, innovation, technology strategy, and digital transformation. We also have a unique ability to help our clients translate strategy into actionable technical design, and transformation planning/mobilization. Your Key Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the analysis, design, coding testing & implementation
• Working in Agile methodology.
• Work with vendor teams from IT, Ops & Business.
• Analyse business requirements; write functional and minor development specifications.
• Code solutions that meet the business requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Follow and improve existing coding standards and best practices.
• Must have significant experience developing applications under an onshore-offshore model.
• Capability to approach problems as challenges and deal with them positively and constructively.
• Sets an example for team members in the following manner: hard work, a focus on client delivery, preparedness, organization, a positive attitude and respect for others.

Primary Skills / Must have

• Must demonstrate strong technical and business leadership skills.
• Strong Cobol, JCL, DB2 experience.
• Basic knowledge and know-how of CICS.
• Experience in designing/ maintaining mainframe applications.
• Experience in MQ and DB2 stored procedure.
• Experience creating/consuming data in relational database environments (preferably DB2, SQL).
• Detail oriented, ability to turn deliverables around quickly with high degree of accuracy.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret business requirements and produce functional and technical
• design documents.
• Good time management skills – ability to prioritize and multi-task, handling multiple efforts at once.
• Strong written and oral communications skills are a must.
• Strong desire to understand and learn domain.

Secondary Skills / Desired skills

• Experience in distributed tech – Dot Net/JAVA framework.
• Languages like Python, C, C++.
• Any experience in Mainframe migration.
• Exposure of tools such as Changeman, File-Aid, Intertest.
• Knowledge of Native stored procedures.
• Have experience in a financial/banking industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 5-8 years of hands-on experience in the solutioning and delivery of applications hosted in Mainframes.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices and methodologies.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

Education:

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
