The opportunity

 

As a Pricing and Commercial Architect, you’ll hold primary responsibility for providing financial and commercial modelling pursuit support for EY’s largest, most complex and most strategic opportunities. You will help shape and close new business opportunities by drawing together competitive intelligence (price, solution, and commercial), client business and solution requirements, internal EY cost to serve estimates and commercial model options.

 

The objective of the role is to enable and facilitate EY in winning profitable business through the development and creation of robust financial models that drive optimal outcomes for both the client and EY.

 

The role will include supporting strategic initiatives within UKI Commercial Team, including the development of capability, reusable tools and pricing assets, and the embedding of commercial best practice, processes, knowledge and behaviours within EY.

 

 

Your Responsibility

 

As a Pricing and Commercial Architect, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of competitive analysis:

 

  • Through financial modelling, support a combination of costing the solution components, development of the Client Business Case, the EY Business Case, a pricing response, contractual pricing schedules and documents and mitigating EY risks.
  • Support the preparation of the pursuit’s EY financial business case for internal approvals including the production of financial reports and financial analysis for deal approval packs.
  • Financial analysis and risk assessment through scenario and commercial evaluation modelling.
  • Support the transfer of the pricing knowledge to delivery teams to ensure the ongoing management of the financial aspects of contracts.
  • Capture knowledge and contribute to the development and embedding into EY artefacts that can be used to support pursuits – e.g., costing and pricing policies, models, promoting re-use assets wherever possible.
  • Use applications such as Microsoft Excel and EY’s pricing and analytics tools to create financial structures and model deal economics based on accounting standards and internal guidelines, ensuring alignment with EY’s profitability and risk frameworks.
  • Establish credibility and build trust with stakeholders through proactive engagement, clear communication and commercial acumen.
  • Contribute to thought leadership activities for development of pricing and commercial acumen within the organization. Develop collateral, assets and white papers for spreading commercial knowledge outside of the function.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance performance.

To qualify for this role, you must have

 

  • Professional accounting qualification or bachelor’s degree in relevant field(s) like finance, accounting, statistics with equivalent practical experience.
  • Pricing/Accounting experience ideally in a professional service and/or technology firm.
  • Certifications covering financial knowledge (CA, ICWA, CFA, CMA, CPA) would carry significant advantages.
  • 8+ years post accountancy/financial qualification or equivalent experience with financial reporting, accounting practices and presentation of financial information.
  • Complex data/financial modelling skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modelling, with any experience of VBA, Access, or SQL a distinct advantage will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrated capabilities in MS Office specially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail and be highly organised and be experienced in working with complex data and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong EQ and personal presence.
  • Ability to influence without authority, lead and coach others.
  • Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
