The opportunity
The Business Analyst’s role is to confer with the stakeholders to understand, document, analyze and manage the requirements for the construction and testing of IT solutions. This includes interviewing stakeholders, gathering & compiling user requirements, recommending milestones and deliverables to meet the requests of the business. The Business Analyst facilitates the development process and confirms with supervisor that project deliverables are met according to specifications.
This role of Business Analyst requires methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of all or part of a business in terms of business functions and processes to document the requirements to be delivered.
The BA will manage the requirements development process through the elicitation, analysis, specification & verification of multiple levels of requirements (Business, Stakeholder, Solution & Transition) and support the ongoing management of the requirements through design, development, test and implementation.
The Business analyst will be required to create viable and consumable specifications including acceptance criteria in preparation for the construction and testing of solutions.
Your key responsibilities
- Building the foundation for the development effort by capturing the business context - problem, current state, desired future state, objectives, business needs and impacted user groups
- Development and deployment of formal business analysis methods and tools to govern and control programs
- Working with the project manager and the business customer(s) to elicit the Stakeholder and Solution requirements.
- Writing and reviewing business, user & non-functional/system level requirements in the form of User stories, requirement statements and other similar structured requirements documentation
- Work with the Product Managers/Owners to prioritise and groom the User stories.
- Develops requirements Specifications in the form of gap analysis of requirements to COTS products / customized business needs
- Develops requirements in the form of configuration requirements for COTS products / customized business needs
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A Bachelor’s degree (in any discipline)
- 10 to 12 years in a corporate IT environment, working in a Large MNC
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in business analysis or related technical field (application development, deployment, implementation & infrastructure) in Agile & waterfall Methodologies
- Prior Business analysis role with personal accountability for delivering and managing requirements to time
- Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing business, user & non-functional/system level requirements
- Flexibility to work across different time zones.
- Excellent communications skills - strong verbal and written communication skills to develop & communicate project deliverables in a non-technical manner to end users.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
- Able to work under minimal supervision selecting the appropriate methods to elicit and document requirements and adjusting approach to suit location and role of stakeholders who will include service owners, support teams, technical and project leads from the programme and the vendor.
- Follow the project strategy to elicit and document requirements.
- Defining the procedures on how the requirements will be managed (i.e. base lining requirements, requirements change control and requirements traceability)
- Selecting the appropriate analysis and specification models and ensuring that requirements are of high quality
- Assessing change requests related to requirements to assess overall impact
- Determining ‘fit for purpose’ requirements
- Advises leadership of potential issues which could impact other project deliverables.
Additional Preferred Skill Sets – Data Analysis & Power Platform
- Proficient in Power BI for building interactive dashboards, DAX-based calculations, and data modelling to support business decision-making.
- Hands-on experience developing Power Apps (Canvas/Model-Driven) to digitize and streamline manual business processes.
- Skilled in creating Power Automate workflows for automating approvals, notifications, and cross-system integrations.
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into data-driven insights, including trend analysis, root cause analysis, etc
- Experience working with SharePoint, Excel (advanced), Dataverse, and other data sources for integrated reporting and automation.
- Ability to identify process inefficiencies and design low-code/no-code automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
