Capital Market/Treasury Implementation Consultant

Role Summary

We are seeking a Capital Markets/Treasury Implementation Consultant (Senior Consultant level) with experience in Capital Markets and Treasury platform implementation, post-trade operations, and technology transformation. The role involves supporting end-to-end delivery of platform implementation and modernization initiatives across trade confirmations, settlements, securities processing, treasury operations, and regulatory reporting. The consultant will work closely with business, operations, risk, and technology stakeholders to design, configure, test, deploy, and stabilize solutions across Capital Markets and Treasury ecosystems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the implementation, enhancement, and modernization of Capital Markets and Treasury platforms.
  • Support business and technology workstreams across platform configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and production stabilization activities.
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to deliver transformation programs.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and technical solutions.
  • Conduct workshops, stakeholder discussions, and gap assessments to identify platform configuration and customization requirements.
  • Support trade lifecycle processes including trade capture, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, accounting, and reporting.
  • Assist with system integrations using industry-standard interfaces and messaging protocols.
  • Support SIT, UAT, defect management, production validation, and post-implementation activities.
  • Prepare project documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and test artifacts.
  • Participate in Agile or Waterfall project delivery methodologies and contribute to project governance activities.
  • Guide junior team members and support successful workstream execution.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Capital Markets & Treasury Domain Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of Capital Markets, Treasury, Investment Banking, and Post-Trade Operations.
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycle processes including trade capture, confirmations, matching, settlements, accounting, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Experience in trade confirmations, settlement processing, securities operations, SSI management, exception handling, and counterparty management.
  • Understanding of operational controls, regulatory reporting, reconciliation processes, and settlement fail management.
  • Experience across one or more asset classes including:
    • Foreign Exchange (FX)
    • Fixed Income
    • Equities
    • Money Markets
    • Derivatives (Futures, Swaps, Options)

 

Platform & Implementation Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience implementing, configuring, enhancing, supporting, or integrating Capital Markets and Treasury platforms such as:
    • Murex
    • Calypso/Adenza
    • Kondor+/Fusion Kondor
    • Finastra Fusion
    • SunGard Treasury
    • Broadridge Gloss
    • Fidessa
    • MarkitSERV
    • Summit
    • Or equivalent Treasury and Capital Markets platforms
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation, implementation, or modernization programs.
  • Ability to conduct gap analysis between business requirements and standard platform capabilities.

 

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of Java, Python, PL/SQL, .NET, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent databases.
  • Unix/Linux shell scripting experience.
  • Understanding of enterprise integration frameworks, APIs, XML, MQ, and messaging technologies.
  • Knowledge of financial market connectivity standards including SWIFT MT/MX, FIX, ISO 20022, and settlement interfaces.
  • Exposure to DevOps, release management, deployment processes, and environment management.
  • Experience supporting system integrations, data reconciliations, and operational issue resolution.

 

Functional & Consulting Skills

  • Requirements gathering, business analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to propose scalable, configuration-driven solutions.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting SIT, UAT, defect triage, and production validation.
  • Ability to review test cases and collaborate with QA and testing teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Strong communication and client-facing consulting skills.
  • Ability to independently manage workstreams and mentor junior consultants.

 

Desirable Knowledge

  • Experience with market infrastructure and utility platforms such as SWIFT, DTCC, Omgeo CTM, Traiana, MarkitSERV, or equivalent solutions.
  • Knowledge of valuation, pricing, risk management, VaR, P&L, and treasury operations workflows.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline (BE/BTech/MCA preferred).
  • MBA (Finance) or relevant financial markets certification is advantageous.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Capital Markets, Treasury Technology, Post-Trade Operations, or Financial Services technology implementation.
  • Experience working with banks, broker-dealers, custodians, market infrastructure providers, treasury functions, or financial institutions.
  • Proven track record of contributing to Capital Markets or Treasury transformation and implementation programs.
