Job Title: Senior Manager – Oil and Gas Business Consulting (Downstream & Digital Transformation)

The opportunity

We are looking for a Business Consultant to join the EY GDS Consulting Oil & Gas team. As part of EY Consulting, you will lead strategic engagements for downstream oil & gas clients, focusing on operational excellence, digital transformation, strategy and optimization of business process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, gaining exposure to both the business requirements and the technology that enables them. You will leverage deep industry expertise and advanced technologies to deliver data-driven insights, process improvements, and sustainable value creation.

What you will do

• Leadership:
  • Lead and deliver consulting engagements across the downstream oil & gas value chain.
  • Engage with clients across global geographies, collaborate with EY member firms and internal subject-matter experts, and maintain high-quality stakeholder relationships.
• Strategy:
  • Develop and present strategic roadmaps for digital transformation of downstream oil and gas business
  • Define and document new processes, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technology solutions.
  • Leverage data, analytics, IoT, AI/ML, cloud platforms and digital twins to generate insights, improve decision-making and operational performance for oil and gas downstream clients
• Consulting:
  • Work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and value creation
  • Mentor and manage consulting teams, build capability within the team, ensure delivery excellence and knowledge transfer.
  • Facilitate organizational change management for digital adoption and capability building.
  • Contribute to EY’s Energy Consulting practice through whitepapers, client workshops, and solution development.
• Business Development:
  • Be responsible for managing downstream Oil and Gas client account(s) and stakeholders across a portfolio of business opportunities and projects
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging your network and market insights to drive growth.
  • Shape compelling proposals and thought leadership, positioning the firm as a partner of choice for strategic transformation.
  • Meet individual and team sales and revenue targets.

Required skills & competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical or equivalent)
• Masters or MBA (added advantage)
• Approximately 15–18 years of total experience, with a blend of downstream oil & gas industry experience and strong consulting experience.
• Expertise in downstream oil and gas sector preferably in refinery and petrochemicals industry. Industry experience in LNG/Gas Plant experience will be added advantage
• Extensive knowledge of downstream oil and gas value chains, business models, business processes, capabilities and technology solutions & vendors (Aspentech, Aveva, Honeywell etc.)
• Prior working experience in digital transformation for oil & gas business including exposure to IT/OT architecture and framework
• Familiarity with process simulation, process optimization, asset performance management tools will be added advantage.
• Experience working with clients to create business and technology strategies, solutions and delivery roadmaps
• Experience leading business and technology enabled transformation projects within Oil and Gas
• Proven track record in project delivery, with the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
• Strong client and relationship network within the Oil and Gas Industry, and experience developing and owning relationships across the market
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, bringing teams together to achieve common goals in complex environments.
• Extensive experience managing teams and mentoring talent, contributing to practice growth and capability building.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience in consulting roles for Oil & Gas clients, delivering digital transformation, strategy and implementation projects.
• Experience in defining business cases, roadmaps, and prioritization of initiatives.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to translate technical expertise into business value propositions.
• Proven experience in analysing, mapping, and redesigning business processes will be added advantage.
