Enablement Services provides cost-effective, high-skilled, and innovative services to support EY’s global and local enablement teams. Markets, BMC, AWS, Finance and Accounting, Risk Management, Procurement, People Shared Services, IT Service Delivery and IT Global Infrastructure services, are among the services offered by Enablement Services.
Our innovation specialists serve the GDS Client Service and Enablement Services teams, along with Service Lines, Core Business Services and Sectors. The team brings the desired environment, technologies and skilled teams together for facilitation, rapid prototyping and innovative thinking. The competencies offered include analytics, digital, user experience, mobile technology, infrastructure, Microsoft technologies and open innovation.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Consultant / Manager to join our Business Consulting practice, specializing in Downstream Logistics and Shipping (Oil & Gas). The ideal candidate will bring strong domain expertise across downstream logistics, shipping, terminals, and supply chain operations, combined with consulting experience, digital transformation exposure, and the ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary engagements.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver consulting engagements across the downstream oil & gas value chain, including crude and product logistics, marine transportation, terminals, pipelines, storage, distribution, and last mile delivery.
- Drive transformation programs focused on logistics optimization, shipping efficiency, cost reduction, operational excellence, HSSE improvement, and supply chain resilience.
- Support clients on marine and shipping operations, including chartering strategies, fleet optimization, demurrage reduction, voyage economics, port operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Design and implement digital transformation initiatives across downstream logistics, leveraging analytics, IoT, automation, control towers, and integrated planning platforms.
- Define project scope and delivery approach, prepare workplans and governance models, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure high quality, on time delivery of outcomes.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders, internal subject matter experts, and cross functional teams to deliver integrated solutions for downstream clients.
- Mentor and manage consulting teams, ensuring delivery excellence, capability building, and knowledge transfer.
- Contribute to business development, including proposal development, solution shaping, client presentations, and thought leadership in downstream logistics and shipping.
Skills and attributes for success
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical or equivalent).
- Approximately 8 or more years of total experience, with a strong mix of downstream oil & gas logistics/shipping operations and management consulting.
- Proven experience in areas such as product supply & trading logistics, marine operations, terminals & storage, pipeline scheduling, distribution networks, and refinery to market supply chains.
- Strong consulting skillset: structured problem solving, analytical thinking, executive communication, and development of high quality client deliverables.
- Hands on exposure to digital initiatives in downstream logistics, including logistics visibility, scheduling & optimization tools, supply chain analytics, and automation solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate in global, cross cultural environments.
Good to have
- Master’s degree (MBA, Supply Chain, Engineering Management, or equivalent).
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, APICS/CSCP, or Digital Transformation credentials.
- Experience with downstream relevant platforms such as terminal management systems, marine scheduling tools, logistics control towers, ERP/SAP, or advanced planning systems.
- Exposure to operational excellence, lean supply chain, HSSE frameworks, and risk management in logistics and shipping.
- Willingness to travel and work with international clients.
- Prior experience with a global consulting firm (Big 4 or equivalent).
