Business Intelligence & Analytics Analyst

Center of Excellence (COE)

Level: Senior Associate / Supervising Associate / Assistant Director

Role Summary

We are seeking a Business Intelligence & Analytics Analyst to join our Center of Excellence (COE) team. This role focuses on building reporting solutions and delivering analytical insights that help the business understand performance, trends, and key drivers.

At a minimum, the successful candidate will be able to work effectively in Excel for analysis and reporting and have familiarity with creating basic dashboards in Power BI. Deep technical expertise in Power BI, data modeling, or SQL is not required on day one. Advanced technical skills are developed over time through hands on work, coaching, and collaboration.

This role is well suited for someone who is curious about how the business operates, can break down why information is needed, and translate those needs into clear, reliable reporting and analysis. Over time, the individual is expected to grow beyond basic dashboards and develop the ability to extract, transform, and analyze data using Power BI, SQL, Power Query, Dataflows, and Excel—delivering insight, not just visuals.

Success in this role depends on strong collaboration, transparency, and continuous technical growth. The analyst will work both independently and as part of shared COE initiatives, follow established standards and workflows, and build trust through consistent, visible delivery and a willingness to share knowledge and context with the broader team.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Analytical Insight

  • Build and maintain reporting solutions and dashboards that provide clear visibility into business performance, trends, and key drivers
  • Use Excel and Power BI to analyze data, validate results, and communicate insights effectively
  • Translate business questions into structured reporting and analysis, ensuring outputs are accurate, clear, and reliable

Data Analysis & Technical Growth

  • Extract, transform, and analyze data using Excel, Power BI, Power Query, and Dataflows
  • Develop familiarity with SQL and data modeling concepts over time through hands on work and coaching
  • Move beyond basic dashboards to provide analytical context and explanation, not just visuals

Collaboration & Ways of Working

  • Work collaboratively as part of the COE, contributing to shared initiatives as well as independently owned work
  • Follow established standards, templates, and workflows for reporting and analytics delivery
  • Communicate progress, changes, and risks clearly to ensure visibility and alignment
  • Share knowledge, context, and learnings to help strengthen overall team capability

Ownership & Continuous Improvement

  • Take ownership of assigned reporting and analysis deliverables from intake through completion
  • Incorporate feedback and iterate on solutions to improve quality and usefulness
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and growth in both technical skills and business understanding

Required Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong ability to work with Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with creating basic dashboards in Power BI
  • Experience translating business questions into reporting or analytical outputs
  • Clear communication skills with a collaborative, team oriented mindset
  • Willingness to learn and grow technical skills within a structured COE environment

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Power Query, Dataflows, or SQL
  • Experience in a reporting, analytics, or business intelligence role
  • Comfort working within defined standards and review processes
  • Demonstrated curiosity about how data reflects business operations and decision making
