Assistant Director – Communication and Engagement
Role Overview
At EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC), we work closely with business leaders to bring EY’s people strategy to life. This role manages major strategic programs and transformation projects that depend on clear, coordinated, and impactful communication.
The Leadership Communications Lead is responsible for strategic communications to the leadership group within GDS. The role ensures complex programs are communicated with clarity, pace and impact to drive understanding and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- PPEDD Communication Strategy and Alignment
- Define and lead the communications strategy for the leadership group with EY GDS. Leading priority programs, ensuring alignment with GDS strategy, transformation priorities and business outcomes.
- Translate complex enterprise programs into clear, structured and outcome-driven communication narratives.
- Establish a cohesive communication approach across PPEDD initiatives, ensuring consistency in messaging across functions, geographies and leadership layers.
- Identify critical communication moments across the program lifecycle and align messaging to drive clarity, engagement and action.
- Program Communication Leadership and Integration
- Lead communication planning and execution for PPEDD-led initiatives and transformation programs.
- Ensure integration of communication across multiple workstreams, eliminating duplication and driving a unified narrative.
- Partner with program sponsors, Enablement teams and BMC colleagues to align messaging, timelines and delivery milestones.
- Simplify complex program structures, progress updates and transformation outcomes into clear, audience-centric communication.
- Shape executive communication including leadership messaging, webcasts, town halls, updates and strategic narratives.
- Facilitate alignment with stakeholders across service lines and geographies to ensure consistent and coordinated communication.
- Build strong working relationships across global and regional teams to enable seamless communication delivery and adoption.
- Content Strategy
- Define and drive the content strategy for PPEDD communications, ensuring clarity, consistency and relevance.
- Lead development of key narratives, messaging frameworks, toolkits and communication assets for programs and initiatives.
- Ensure all communication materials are aligned to EY tone of voice, brand standards and audience expectations.
- Drive storytelling that clearly articulates program value, progress, impact and outcomes to diverse audiences.
- Campaign Delivery and Channel Strategy
- Plan and execute integrated communication campaigns across multiple channels including intranet, email, leadership forums and webcasts.
- Partner with publishing, analytics and digital teams to optimize content delivery and channel effectiveness.
- Ensure communication cadence is well-structured, avoiding overload while maintaining relevance and engagement.
- Continuously improve audience engagement by refining formats, channels and communication approaches.
- Governance and Measurement
- Establish governance frameworks, templates and communication standards for PPEDD-led initiatives
- Define success metrics including reach, engagement, understanding and adoption of program messages.
- Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track communication effectiveness and program impact.
- Use insights and feedback to continuously refine communication strategies, improving clarity and outcomes over time.

- Proven ability to influence and advise senior leaders in complex, matrixed environments.
- Capability to lead large-scale, multi-stakeholder communication programs across geographies.
- Strong understanding of enterprise programs, transformation initiatives and cross-functional operating models.
- Ability to translate complex program structures, milestones and outcomes into clear and actionable communication.
- Exceptional writing, editing and narrative development skills across channels and formats.
- Ability to simplify highly complex content into structured, engaging and audience-focused communication.
- Strong executive communication capability, including leadership messaging and presentations.
- Strong project management capability with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and high stakeholder expectations.
- High attention to detail, ownership and ability to deliver under ambiguity.
Qualifications
Master’s/bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, or related field.
14+ years' experience in internal communications, employer and recruitment brand
Experience in professional services, advisory, or enterprise-level insight functions is highly preferred.
Proven track record of leading major cross geographic team
