Job description: Analytics Senior Analyst
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for working across a range of analytics projects and solutions for internal clients,collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support informed decision-making. The Analytics Senior Analyst will utilize advanced analytics modeling techniques to extract insights, predict trends, and optimize decision-making,
while ensuring that data is presented in a clear and usable format.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Work on a variety of analytics projects and solutions, collaborating with internal clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored insights that drive business outcomes.
- Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring alignment with client objectives and timelines.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that inform strategic decision-making within EY.
- Utilize advanced analytics modeling techniques to derive actionable insights and support data-driven recommendations.
- Develop and implement advanced analytics models to extract insights and predict trends, optimizing decision- making processes for internal clients.
- Collaborate with team members to refine modeling approaches and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Continuously develop knowledge of analytics methods and best practices to effectively address the evolving needs of internal clients.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in analytics, integrating new techniques into project work as appropriate.
- As required, gather and analyze external market data to provide additional insights for internal clients, enhancing the depth and relevance of analytics projects.
- Ensure that data insights are presented in a clear and usable format, utilizing data visualization tools to enhance understanding and facilitate decision-making.
- Prepare reports and presentations that effectively communicate analytical findings to stakeholders at all levels.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
- Collection, analysis, and interpretation of large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that inform strategic decision-making for internal clients.
- Utilization of advanced analytics modeling techniques to extract insights and predict trends, providing data- driven recommendations that optimize decision-making processes.
- Generation of actionable insights from data analysis, translating findings into clear recommendations that support informed business decisions.
- Gathering and analysis of external market data as needed, enhancing the depth and relevance of insights provided to internal clients.
- Ensures that analytical results are presented in a clear and usable format, facilitating understanding and enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions based on the insights provided.
- Identification of opportunities for process improvements in data analysis and modeling practices, proposing enhancements that increase efficiency and effectiveness in analytics efforts.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in data analysis techniques and methodologies, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Understanding of statistical methods and concepts, including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and data distribution, to support data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics modelling techniques, including machine learning and predictive analytics, to extract insights and predict trends.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R, enabling effective data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create compelling visual representations of data that facilitate understanding and communication of insights.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions in the context of data analysis.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency in analysis and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey analytical findings to diverse stakeholders, ensuring clarity and engagement.
- A commitment to staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics, adapting skills and knowledge accordingly.

Job Requirements:
Education:
- Educated to degree level
- Higher professional or master’s qualification is preferred, not required
Certification Requirements:
Higher professional or master’s qualification in a related discipline is preferred, not required
Active membership in related professional bodies or industry groups is preferred, not required
Experience:
- Significant experience in a closely related Data analytics / data / insights driven role.
- Experience in solving problems in a structured manner and delivering results in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Experience of developing digital capability, defining key digital competencies for the team, and ensuring
- provision of learning to advance skills.
- Demonstrable experience of collaborating with talent colleagues to understand needs / requirements and of shaping digital solutions.
- Demonstrable experience of working with third party vendors / external system implementors to deliver reporting, insights, and analytical solutions from design to enablement.
- Experience of leading and participating in global dispersed teams to enhance services, processes, and standards.
- Demonstrable experience of working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments to deliver required results.
- Demonstrable experience of anticipating issues and challenges and proactively working to navigate challenges.
- Experience of conducting internal and external research and analysis, providing best practices and insights to drive improvements.
- Demonstrable experience of having worked to lead or provide SMR advice to achieve successful change outcomes.
