The opportunity

We’re looking for either a Senior Associate or Manager to join our Belfast-based Indirect Tax team.

Our Indirect Tax professionals provide pragmatic commercial help, supporting clients through the full life cycle of their business to improve their systems and processes, engage with HMRC on their behalf, deliver complex advisory projects and help them plan for the future. 

 

As part of our Indirect Tax team, you will gain exposure to interesting and complex indirect tax work as part of a fast-growing yet tight knit team as it moves to the next stage of an ambitious growth plan. 


Your key responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of quality work and assist with the day-to-day leadership of delivery team.
  • Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Work closely with the Partner to drive the technical development of the team.
  • Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide exceptional levels of client service.
  • Build networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage.
  • Provide excellent client service, including proactively identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Take responsibility for a broad portfolio of clients providing advice on a range of VAT issues.
  • Business development skills - able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work by proactively managing existing clients and winning new clients.
  • Managing the delivery of indirect tax advisory projects for your clients, with an increasing focus on technology solutions.
  • Work with the wider tax team on client proposals, due diligence projects and advisory engagements.

  • Effective time management and the ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in a range of situations.
  • Enthusiastic and ambitious team player with ability to create, sustain and lead effective teams.
  • Ability to lead client and sub-service line relationships.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Degree preferred (minimum of educated to A-level or equivalent).
  • Minimum three years’ experience working within UK-based Indirect Tax.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CTA qualification (or equivalent professional experience).
