Our People Advisory Services business (PAS) is focused on people management and our vision is to help our clients get it right in all its facets. PAS has three key pillars: Transformation (Workforce Advisory), mobile talent and workforce enablement (Integrated Mobility) and transactions (Reward). In Workforce Advisory, where this position is located in, we help organizations put talent and purpose at the heart of their transformation agenda.

To further strengthen our Swiss People Advisory Services team, we are looking for a Manager to join us in our Basel office. 


The opportunity


Communications and Engagement (C&E) is a rapidly growing area and plays an integral part of EY People Advisory Services and our Change Management’s offering.


As a member of our Change Management / Communications & Engagement Team, you will be working with high profile clients and leaders to support transformation projects by delivering communications and engagement strategy and execution at our clients.

You will be able to apply some strategic thinking and adapt plans according to audience insights and an understanding of the bigger transformation picture.

We are currently recruiting Communications & Engagement practitioners to help take this expertise to the next level and become a true differentiator for EY which adds value, generates revenue, and promotes our brand in a unique and creative way.


Your key responsibilities

In this role, your responsibilities will include core consulting and management of communications (internal and external) activities, as part of major programmes. Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the delivery of projects and programmes to meet and exceed client expectations
  • Analysing problems and delivering insightful, practical and sustainable solutions
  • Contributing to the development of broad change management strategies and plans
  • Identifying and innovating ways to deliver on Communications & Engagement proposition to clients, to positively impact current engagements
  • Taking a practical approach to solving issues and gaining client buy-in
  • Monitoring and measuring the impact of the communication activities
  • Managing delivery of work on time and on budget as an individual contributor and/or with support of a small team
  • Planning, overseeing and monitoring the creation high/quality and engaging content, e.g. articles, blogs, presentations, videos, podcasts, interviews, newsletters, internal sites to meet clients’ needs
  • Be up to date with key technical and functional skills, and with industry, business and leadership skills and knowledge - and share this expertise with others

  • Be professional, quickly establishing personal credibility and demonstrate expertise
  • Ability to listen to client’s needs, analyze complex problems to develop proposals based on practial and sustainable solutions
  • Ability to ‘hit the ground running’, comfortable working amongst ambiguity and in high-pressured environments
  • Be skilled in facilitating and encouraging collaboration amongst team members, and capable of motivating teams to maximise performance
  • Be confident and effective in recognising and managing potential issues during client assignments 
  • Have strong personal impact and resilience, and be able to influence and persuade clients and stakeholders to gain assistance for major changes and key decisions
  • Proficiency in English is a must; French, German, or Swiss-German

To qualify for this role, you must have

  • 8+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience
  • Proven experience in managing communications activities / teams (internal and/ or external) from industry and/or agency delivering communications strategy, channels, senior stakeholder engagement in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment 
  • Proven experience in creating and executing compelling marketing and communications materials/campaigns underpinned by corporate storytelling
  • Proven track record in setting-up and rolling-out of communications initiatives and programs, along with defining and tracking key measurements
  • The ability to manage and build client and stakeholder relationships
  • Proven experience of managing budgets
  • Excellent written communications and networking experience and skills in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within a large, complex organisation 
  • Strong team player mentality to proactively drive solutions within highly motivated and diverse teams across functions, countries, and regions


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in supporting communications activities for a digital transformation / new tool implementation
  • You must be comfortable and keen on working with technology / digital products or processes
  • Knowledge of agile ways of working
  • Qualifications from organizations such as PROSCI, ChangeFirst (regarded as an asset)
