The opportunity

 

As our Entry Level – Assurance and Compliance Officer you’ll be responsible for supporting and delivering assurance and compliance activities for a large‑scale data reporting and collection program on behalf of the Australian Government. This program collects information quarterly from a range of small, medium and large‑scale service providers with the government, utilising the data to help monitor and improve the quality of services provided.

 

This role involves undertaking assurance and compliance assessments of data provided by service providers to assess the accuracy and reliability of information reported through to the central monitoring agency.

 

This role requires Australian Government Baseline security clearance; therefore, Australian citizenship is mandatory.

 

This role is based in Wadawurrung – Ballarat. (Roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.)

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Conduct assurance and compliance checks of provider‑submitted data by following documented Standard Operating Procedures and checklists.
  • Assess the accuracy of data and information reported to the central monitoring agency provided by service providers.
  • Identify discrepancies between datasets, and any anomalies or potential risks in reported data.
  • Prepare a summary report of exceptions and issues identified through analysis of information to be provided to central monitoring agency.
  • Utilise approved record management systems for efficient processing and storage of information.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work with large data sets and meticulously examine and accurately identify potential exceptions.
  • Customer Service: Ability to provide high quality customer service in a fast‑paced business environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Commitment to maintaining high standards in assurance and compliance processes and documentation, ensuring adherence to all relevant standards and procedures.
  • Analytical Skills: Possess an analytical mindset to interpret data, assess information reported by service providers, and provide accurate reporting on discrepancies, anomalies or other issues identified.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient with the MS Office suite, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
