The Opportunity

Within the team you could drive projects and be an integral part of larger projects, often involving multi-disciplinary teams. As part of your role, you would work on a varied portfolio of engagements and get involved in activities to support the wider team. Our team has regional (Caucasus and Central Asia) coverage and many of our engagements involve multi-national clients. Overseas travel is possible.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior consultant you're likely to spend your day to day designing, building, testing integrated financial models, researching markets for demand and structure, supporting strategy development. You'll need a strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, be flexible and adaptable when it comes to different projects. Reviewing financial models is key too (under supervision) and you'll arrive at preliminary conclusions to ensure we provide the best service for our clients.

Skills and Attributes for success

• Strong Excel skills - designing and building models as well as testing them; incorporating operational, tax, accounting, and financing aspects across a range of sectors. Develop a strong understanding of Excel and how it can be applied to corporate finance.
• Strong Power Point skills - building clear, efficient, and easy to read slides delivering our key findings to the clients is the core skill required for success in projects.
• Logical thinking - you'll apply logical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to support resolution of issues.
• Delegation and review – your work will require full day of intense cooperation with 1 or 2 junior staff members, therefore ability to delegate tasks and review team members’ work is important.
• Attention to detail - you'll review financial models under supervision and arrive at preliminary conclusions.
• Communication and soft skills - communicating effectively with the engagement manager, the client, and the wider team in a concerted effort towards delivering work products of the highest standard.
• Support business development - assisting senior team members in developing new business.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• Higher education in finance, economics, or business administration.
• At least 5 years of experience in financial or business planning role at reputable organizations.
• Excellent proficiency in financial modeling skills, proficiency in analytical calculations (factor analysis, sensitivity and scenario analysis, financial analysis, etc.)
• Proven experience of Business Modelling, with number of years of commercial, client-facing work experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and an ability to identify the factors that drive financial performance.
• Strong writing and analytical skills.
• Highly motivated, numerate and a logical thinker are all key to the role.
• Availability for up to 30% of travel for client projects when necessary.
• Both written and spoken English and Azerbaijani languages, Russian is a plus.

Ideally, you'll also have

• Strong interpersonal skills and previous experience of working within a similar team.
• Experience with any of the following software packages: MS Access; SQL Server; Data Visualization applications (e.g., Tableau, MS Power BI); Statistical packages (e.g., MATLAB, SPSS); VBA; C#, R or Python is a plus.
• CFA certification or significant progress towards that or similar certifications.
