The opportunity
As a Senior Tax Consultant, you will be a part of our International Tax Services (ITS) and Transfer Pricing team. Within ITS, you will specialize in Transfer Pricing and other aspects of cross-border transactions. We offer depth of experience through a worldwide network of dedicated transfer pricing professionals. You will be working alongside a team of dedicated transfer pricing and tax professionals providing a fully integrated approach to transfer pricing.
You will have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of projects, which could include transfer pricing advisory and transfer pricing compliance projects. You will be coaching and counseling junior team members and will ensure that the services delivered to clients are of the highest quality.
Your key responsibilities
- Prepare transfer pricing documentation to substantiate transfer pricing positions and transfer pricing policy.
- Assist with transfer pricing aspects of tax authority queries or formal audits.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Transfer Pricing concepts and economic principles and effectively apply economic/finance knowledge to clients.
- Thoroughly and accurately analyze factual and financial information applying financial accounting knowledge and technical excel skills.
- Assist in the preparation of high-quality analysis of the client's business model and financial position and arrive at logical conclusions.
- Conduct searches for comparable transactions and/or companies to assist with the preparation of documentation.
- Perform industry, company, and other research as needed.
- Liaise with clients, other EY offices around the globe and tax offices.
- Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating team members on work progress.
- Participate and assist in preparing for client meetings.
Skills and attributes for success
- A graduate in economics, accounting, finance, business or related field
- A very strong knowledge and experience of 2-3 years in ITS and/or Transfer Pricing, ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment
- Knowledge of OECD TP guidelines and local transfer pricing compliance requirements
- Solid research skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Azerbaijani)
- Strong working proficiency of excel, word and PowerPoint
- Experience of dealing with multinational clients and ability to work in multi-cultural environment
- Completed courses in accounting and finance or have sufficient relevant business experience (ACCA F3 and F7 certificate)
