The opportunity

Join EY Consulting as a Senior Consultant specializing in actuarial calculations in accordance with IFRS 17 and 19. In this role, you will participate in adapting actuarial calculations to international standards, ensuring you stay current with the latest trends and practices in actuarial activities. You will engage in interesting projects with leading insurance and industrial companies across Azerbaijan, Central Asia, and the Caucasus.

Your key responsibilities

  • Develop and validate liability measurement models in accordance with IFRS 17 for insurance contracts across various segments for insurance company clients.
  • Create and validate tools for measuring long-term social benefit liabilities in accordance with IFRS 19.
  • Collect and analyze large volumes of data necessary for the development and validation of models.
  • Analyze regulatory requirements from central banks in Azerbaijan, Central Asia and the Caucasus, the ECB, and IFRS regarding insurance contract measurement models.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior employees.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Higher education in mathematics, engineering, or economics/finance.
  • At least 2 years of experience in constructing and/or validating insurance contract valuation models within insurance or consulting companies.
  • Knowledge of the specifics involved in developing and validating models for valuing liabilities and assets under insurance contracts.
  • Strong understanding of probability theory, statistics, and econometrics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, Azerbaijani, and Russian.
  • Possession of FRM, PRM, or CFA certification.
  • Familiarity with VBA and the ability to work with macros in Excel.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or R, along with experience in major data analysis libraries.
