Our Financial Services EY EDGE practice is made up of a team of professionals providing dedicated tax technical services to both US and global clients. EDGE stands for Exceptional Delivery and Growth Engine because this team operates in a technical environment with deep process and service delivery experience that distinguishes EY in the marketplace.
Join our Tax Technology and Transformation team as a Senior Manager in UX/UI Design, where you'll have the opportunity to create innovative experiences, powered by technology, to enhance user engagement and satisfaction with products, services, or brands. You'll apply user-led experience design, analyzing new and existing user behaviors, to help organizations get more from their technology investments. Producing graphic/UX designs using a variety of techniques and software, you'll improve a product's usability, accessibility, and desirability.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Manager in UX/UI Design, you'll be responsible for the effective management and delivery of complex processes, solutions, and projects, maintaining a focus on quality and risk management. You'll navigate operational and organizational dynamics, be accountable for budgets, delivery, and performance, and build and manage client relationships. You'll lead teams with broad visibility to achieve performance objectives and provide deep insight in your function or specialism. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the evolution of the Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC) to accelerate delivery from ideation to engineering
- Actively shape workflows, prototypes, and design artifacts that enable faster validation and build readiness
- Partner closely with engineering and product, bridging gaps through direct collaboration—not just governance
- Define and execute a user-centered experience vision aligned to business priorities
- Apply user-led design methodologies to analyze behaviors and improve outcomes
- Translate strategy into tangible experience solutions through direct involvement
- Oversee and contribute to the creation of UX and visual designs that improve usability, accessibility, and desirability
- Guide and refine work through hands-on critique, iteration, and prototyping
- Drive adoption of scalable design systems and standards
- Lead teams up to senior manager level, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation
- Mentor designers through active coaching, real-time feedback, and working sessions
- Build a team that balances strategic thinking with execution excellence
- Leading engagement delivery and being accountable for program/project management.
- Managing engagement economics for the entire engagement.
- Developing resource plans and budgets for the whole engagement.
Skills and attributes for success
To succeed in this role, you'll need to demonstrate the ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. You'll develop solutions to complex problems and recommend changes to policies that affect your work area. Your skills and attributes will include:
- Build and manage senior client relationships
- Contribute directly to high-stakes engagements, including workshops, concepting sessions, and solution design

- Influence internal and external stakeholders through both vision and execution
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments

- Provides direction and feedback to engagement team members
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree) Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Economics and/or a master’s degree in Accounting, Tax Technology, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science or related field; master's degree preferred.
- Typically, no less than 5 - 7 years relevant experience
- You are required to have one of the following certifications: CPA, EA, JD, Master’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, information systems or engineering, Quantitative Economics or Quants
- Exposure to the financial services industry, accounting/finance/tax, tax or finance performance improvement, tax software development and/or implementation
- Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and monitoring them until completion, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, debugging, project profitability, and tax systems and process configuration
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Professional certification requirements as defined by each service line.
- Emotional Agility and Hybrid Collaboration skills.
- Experience in Leading Teams and Learning Agility.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $133,300 to $304,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $160,000 to $346,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
