Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi

With your contribution and my contribution, together we will thrive.

Hei Oranga Iwi | The opportunity

Do you want to build your career within a highly successful and supportive environment? We are looking for Senior Consultants and Managers, with prior consulting experience relating to digital procurement, procurement transformation, category management, strategic sourcing and third party strategic cost transformation to join our team in Auckland.

We value curious thinkers who have the courage to lead, great communicators who can effectively connect with diverse teams and varying levels, flexible collaborators who build relationships based on doing the right thing, and innovative problem-solvers who use their experience to ultimately find a better way.

This is based in our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office.

Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities

  • Work with diverse teams across the business to win, design, plan, and deliver projects to help clients leverage digital capability to drive better business and solve some of their most challenging problems
  • Manage your own and team performance to achieve a high standard of client service
  • Connect with our local and global networks to work with, share knowledge, and draw on the skills of other EY subject matter specialists
  • Develop relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across all levels
  • Be part of a team that not only helps leading NZ organisations improve operational performance, streamline processes and manage change but also design the future of their business with a people centred approach

Your EY experience could span from bringing latest procurement innovations to a consumer organisation looking to set-up an innovation ecosystem with its strategic partners, delivering bottom-line impact across a national health organisation’s business to support patient access to treatments, to designing a future operating model of an agriculture business which balances long-term aspirations and immediate customer needs.

Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success

You’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Category management development experience, including setting up category management as a capability from scratch to hands-on creation of a category strategy
  • Ability to conduct meaningful data analysis against procurement-related data-sets including those related to spend, contracts and other category-specific data as appropriate
  • Strategic cost transformation experience, including shaping and delivering a third party cost transformation programme
  • End-to-end strategic sourcing experience from identifying business need to meeting that need with a go-to-market exercise
  • Knowledge and experience of ‘spec and select’ for enabling Procurement technologies across the source-to-contract process (including purchase request-to-purchase order)
  • Procurement transformation experience including business case creation and target operating model design through to implementation
  • Strong commercial acumen, and hands-on cost analysis and business case preparation

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Intrinsic, self-motivation to excel in the pursuit of challenging goals
  • A positive attitude, with a passion for creative problem-solving and finding solutions
  • A growth mind set, with a penchant for seeking out new experiences, knowledge, feedback and leadership opportunities
  • Determination, and confidence navigating through periods of ambiguity and change
  • A passion for a culture of collaboration and teaming
