As part of our Transaction Diligence team you will work with many of the world’s largest organisations, fastest-growing companies and private equity firms on some of the most complex deals in the global market. You will help to identify key value drivers, challenge assumptions about future performance, search for and advise on hidden value, and work with other EY service teams to deliver an integrated approach to our clients before, during and after the transaction.

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, business, finance or economics 
  • Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or international equivalent
  • Experience in a Transaction Diligence role within a Consulting environment, working independently and with senior stakeholders on multiple engagements (desirable, not essential)
  • Financial services experience within a corporate organisation or chartered accounting audit environment
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong analytical skills gained through either experience in a financial performance and analysis role or financial modelling role at a corporate or government organisation
  • A genuine interest in M&A transactions
  • A keen interest in working with clients across a range of sectors

 

Your key responsibilities 

 

  • Manage due diligence engagements related to the acquisition or disposal of businesses by private equity investors or strategic corporate buyers, including public market capital transactions
  • Analyse financial/operational results of targets through reviewing accounting records, contracts, board reporting, management prepared and system generated schedules and conducting interviews with management
  • Project manage teams, information flows and manage key stakeholders and support engagement cost reporting
  • Prepare/evaluate pro forma financial information and independent financial analysis
  • Identify issues that impact purchase price and deal structuring
  • Based on your analysis write up your findings and recommendations
  • Share your technical and other knowledge with your team. Coach and support junior team members
  • Review and provide feedback to junior team members regarding their execution of scope of work
  • Support team with overall M&A process management as needed
  • The ability to develop a trusted working relationship with clients Support team with quality and risk management procedures and processes
  • Play a role in business plan initiatives (e.g. key accounts, recruitment, client service framework) and new business opportunities by building client relationships and demonstrating knowledge of client business

We have 1 position available. The salary range for this role is expected to be NZD $85,000 to NZD $110,000 dependent on skills and experience. This full-time role is for a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
