Our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) R&D Tax and Government Incentives team is growing and we're searching for a consultant to join our team. Due to the scientific and technological nature of our work, we're looking for someone with experience and qualifications in science, technology/software/data, or engineering, and a genuine interest in learning new subject matter.
As our Consultant, you’ll analyse and consult on tax opportunities, typically related to large data sets, identifying and analysing multi-country tax regulations and the benefits that can be attained. This is a hybrid position based in our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities
- Performs and consults on R&D Tax Credit incentives and grants globally, requiring preparing technical documentation and data analysis to determine eligible project expenditures to be submitted for government incentive opportunities.
- Assists organizations to proactively plan their tax return, maximize capital allowance, access non-dilutive funding, and optimize their location strategy and finance their investments in innovation and environmental sustainability .
- Responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of client services, by delivering agreed activities including processes, solutions, and/or projects, researching and presenting relevant information to inform recommendations.

Technical & Analytical Expertise: Holds qualifications in science, technology/software/data, or engineering, with beneficial experience in R&D business operations. Demonstrates a basic understanding of accounting and business principles, and is proficient in business software tools like Excel and generative AI.

Research & Communication Skills: Capable of researching complex tax concepts and R&D sector topics with limited guidance. Possesses strong technical writing and communication skills to convey insights effectively.

Relationship & Collaboration Abilities: Skilled at maintaining and developing productive relationships with clients and internal teams, contributing to collaborative and client-focused environments.

- Knowledge of communication concepts, tools and techniques to accurately and effectively transmit ideas, complex concepts or difficult messages.
