As our Manager you will team with EY professionals and client stakeholders to advise many of the world’s largest organisations, fastest growing companies and private equity firms on some of the most complex, high-profile deals in the market. The transactions market is a major part of EY’s go to market strategy. Working in Tax Transactions Advisory, you will be given the tools, training and flexibility to work on interesting and varied matters to grow your career exponentially with an employer that truly invests in the development and wellbeing of its people.
- Serves corporate and private capital markets clients undertaking third-party transactions in tax diligence, general transaction advisory and overall transaction project management. Assists with internal restructuring and corporate and private equity buy/sell side due diligence, development and execution of tax strategy by managing the risk arising from global law changes as a result of Base Erosion Profit Shifting (BEPS) , management of tax liabilities and exposures, and advise on transaction of financial instruments (e.g., cash, debt and equity, derivates, foreign exchange, etc.).
- Focuses on identifying and analyzing tax risks and opportunities while advising on alternative tax strategies for acquisition, disposition, and restructuring of businesses; including the planning, execution and integration of their transaction strategies
This role can be performed from any of our EY offices across Aotearoa. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

- Extensive Experience and Technical Skills: Over 5 years of experience in a relevant New Zealand tax, accounting, legal, or consulting role, preferably with a top-tier or mid-tier New Zealand accounting or legal firm. Demonstrated expertise in New Zealand tax, including tax due diligence, deal structuring, inbound and outbound transaction consulting, international tax research, tax compliance, and post-acquisition planning.
- Effective Communication and Client Service: Proven ability to succinctly and clearly communicate complex tax concepts to clients. Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to develop relationships with clients, providing a high level of client service.
- Project and People Management: Experience managing budgets, projects, and people, coupled with excellent time management capabilities.
