As a Manager in our Digital Risk team, you will lead client engagements focused on identifying, assessing, and managing digital, technology, cyber, and AI‑related risks. You will work across a broad range of industries, advising clients on governance, risk and compliance (GRC), control design, and practical technical solutions to strengthen digital trust, cyber resilience, and the responsible use of emerging technologies.

EY Aotearoa New Zealand is seeking a talented and motivated Manager to join our high‑performing Digital Risk team.

 

Ko Tō Rourou | Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead digital, AI and cyber risk assessments, including maturity reviews, threat modelling, and control effectiveness evaluations.
  • Design and support the implementation of digital, AI and cyber risk frameworks, aligned to business strategy and risk appetite.
  • Advise clients on regulatory and compliance requirements, including ISO 27001, SOC reporting, NIST, NZISM, and emerging AI governance expectations.
  • Manage end‑to‑end delivery of client engagements, including scope, budgets, timelines, and senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members and contribute to business development, proposals, and thought leadership initiatives. 

 

Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success  

  • Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity, digital risk, AI risk management, technology risk, or technology audit within consulting or complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of digital, AI and cyber risk frameworks, including AI governance, model risk, data privacy, ethical use of AI, and impacts of emerging technologies on control environments.
  • Experience assessing and advising on risks associated with AI‑enabled systems, such as automation, machine learning models, decisioning tools, and advanced analytics.
  • Ability to communicate complex technology and AI risks clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior executives and boards.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor) are highly desirable; exposure to AI, data, or technology risk certifications or formal training is also valued.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services is preferred.
