As our Manager you’ll will research and advise clients in relation to broad New Zealand employment tax obligations (including PAYE, FBT, payroll and KiwiSaver). You will also help clients manage their global mobility program. In this role, you will have access to training, coaching and support that’s available to help grow your career even further!
This is a hybrid position and can be performed from any of our EY offices across Aotearoa. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities

Deliver expert tax advisory and compliance services across Global Mobility and Employment Tax, including cross-border income tax, PAYE, FBT, ACC, and KiwiSaver. Lead client meetings and provide strategic tax planning for pre-departure and repatriation scenarios.

Lead and develop high-performing teams by supervising and coaching consultants and seniors, ensuring quality, risk management, and timely delivery of tax technical advice. Manage project resources and budgets while balancing multiple priorities effectively.

Drive client engagement and business growth by contributing to strategic projects with senior leadership, supporting HR and executive teams, and cultivating strong relationships with clients, global EY teams, and business partners. Proactively identify and pursue new revenue opportunities.
Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success

Professional qualifications and experience: Holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Law, with strong academic credentials. CA or Tax qualification preferred. Brings over 5 years of New Zealand Tax experience, particularly in Global Mobility and Employment Tax, with a background in professional services and large global clients.

Leadership and communication strengths: Demonstrates advanced people management skills, including team development and coaching. Communicates effectively across all levels, with a high standard of written and verbal communication, and a strong commitment to knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Personal attributes and work ethic: Shows a proactive attitude and enthusiasm for the Global Mobility/Employment Tax field. Maintains attention to detail, delivers high-quality outcomes, and thrives in fast-paced environments with strong analytical and research capabilities.
