With your contribution and my contribution, together we will thrive.

Hei Oranga Iwi | The opportunity

EY Grants Accelerator (EYGA) is a streamlined, secure, and scalable solution that enhances grant administration, financial tracking, and regulatory compliance. EYGA is designed to provide clients with greater transparency, improved data-driven decision-making, and an intuitive user experience tailored to the needs of program administrators and stakeholders. EYGA enables the client to be at the forefront of technology-driven grant management, enabling more efficient operations and maximising the impact of funding.

This engagement is the first of its kind in Oceania, and spans solution architecture, digital platforms, mobile and web applications, digital technology strategy, and IT operations.

UX within EYGA plays a critical role in shaping how these architectures are experienced by real users, ensuring solutions are usable, accessible, trusted, and fit for purpose across diverse user groups, regulatory, and operational contexts.

This role sits within a EYGA capability, offering the opportunity to work across multi‑phase digital and cloud transformation programme. As EYGA moves into the next delivery phase, the UX Designer will contribute to shaping end‑to‑end user experiences across interconnected systems, balancing architectural constraints, platform standards, and human needs.

You will work closely with solution architects, developers, business analysts, and change teams, helping translate complex system designs into intuitive, accessible, and coherent user experiences.

Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities

As a User Experience (UX) Designer within EYGA, you will design, and validate user experiences across enterprise web and mobile applications, with a strong emphasis on:

  • Discovery‑led designs
  • Platform‑aware UX (e.g. low‑code, CRM, cloud platforms)
  • Accessibility and design system alignment
  • Design hand‑off and delivery governance

You will be involved throughout the lifecycle — from discovery and user research, through low‑ and high‑fidelity design, to handover, QA support, and continuous improvement.

  • Design, customise, and optimise Digital and Cloud‑based solutions within complex enterprise environments.
  • Partner with EYGA architects and delivery teams to ensure UX aligns with solution architecture, platform constraints, and programme goals.
  • Lead and contribute to discovery activities, including user interviews, workshops, observations, and usability testing.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into clear user journeys, interaction flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Apply and extend client and programme design systems, ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility across products.
  • Assess the usability of platform‑native experiences (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Power Platform) and recommend pragmatic enhancements.
  • Support design hand‑off to development, ensuring intent is preserved through build and QA.
  • Communicate UX rationale and insights effectively to clients, stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Contribute to building an internal EYGA UX practice, relationships, and knowledge network.

Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong ability to design user‑centred interfaces that align with established design systems and enterprise standards.
  • Experience analysing complex requirements to identify user roles, permissions, and context‑specific use cases.
  • Practical experience conducting and synthesising user research and usability testing.
  • Confidence working with cross‑disciplinary teams (architecture, development, business analysis, change management).
  • Experience designing for low‑code platforms, particularly Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Understanding of CRM platforms, including assessing and improving Microsoft Dynamics user experiences.
  • Communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly and credibly.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to build long‑term relationships internally and externally.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Design, Information Architecture, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in UX, interaction design, UI design, or usability‑focused roles.
  • Demonstrated experience working, updating, and maintaining design systems and WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, and/or Adobe design tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing data‑heavy or workflow‑driven interfaces for business or public‑sector users.
  • Understanding native configuration of enterprise solutions and where they can be customised.
  • Familiarity with mobile platforms (iOS, Android) and enterprise systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and how design decisions impact development, accessibility, and performance.
