Join our dynamic team at EY as a Manager or Senior Consultant in the Valuation and Modelling team in our Auckland office. This unique position will allow you to leverage your expertise in valuation and financial modelling to deliver high-quality financial and strategic analysis to top tier clients across Australasia.

 

This is a hybrid position based in our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office.

 

Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities   

 

  • Undertake valuations of businesses and intangible assets for a wide range of purposes, including management planning, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tax, financial reporting, and disputes.
  • Deliver insightful financial and operational modelling to create value for clients.
  • Provide decision support and transaction analytics, managing and preparing valuation reports and detailed financial modelling and analysis.
  • Conduct various forms of analysis for business case development and think critically to identify issues and propose strategies related to the advice being provided.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, understanding their issues, anticipating future opportunities, and developing solutions to meet their needs.
  • Get to work alongside an enthusiastic and capable team.

 

Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success 

 

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.  

  • Valuation and financial modelling skills: Strong numerical and analytical skills, including intermediate to advanced level of modelling skills.
  • Education: A degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a relevant field, with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis. 
  • Experience: Relevant experience (3-6 years) in valuation and modelling, ideally within the professional services environment. Experience utilising various valuation techniques and methodologies (market comparables, discounted cash flow, etc.) for different purposes.
  • Communication skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with internal and external contacts.
  • Client deliverables: The ability to write clear and concise reports / client deliverables, including MS PowerPoint experience
  • People development: A commitment to a strong positive team culture and enthusiasm for developing and coaching junior team members.
