As a Data Engineer at either the Senior Consultant or Manager rank, you will design, build and implement scalable data solutions that drive significant business value. Collaborating closely with other data and analytics professionals, program teams, management, and stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in the analytics landscape. Your experience will enable you to comprehend and dissect business requirements, translating them into precise technical specifications. You will serve as a vital link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that the development process aligns seamlessly with the intended design and objectives. 

 

In line with client requirements, this role will be based in our Auckland office.  Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options. 

 

Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities 

  • Be able to clearly explain strengths and weaknessesof data engineering optionsto both technical and senior business stakeholders.
  • Design, build and operate scalable on-premises or cloud dataengineeringarchitecturesolutions thatfacilitatedata storage, integration, management,validationand security, supporting the entire data asset lifecycle.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and must be able to create weekly status reports and manage project budget.
  • As required, coordinate the work of junior colleagues or team membersto ensurestructure and focus on achieving team goals.
  • Perform Modelling of data diagrams in ER Studio for data engineering build as design (Logical, Physical).
  • Must be able to use the following technologieswith more than 1 year experience in Databricks Data Platform, Azure ADF, Python, SQL, AzureDevops and reporting in Power BI.
  • Must be able to work with ingestion patterns and able to update patterns where required by architects.

Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn. 

  • Knowledge with Data pipeline development, including familiarity of various technologies such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Genie, Azure Devops and Unity Catalog Knowledge.
  • Ideal but not essential is experience working in a manufacturing or supply chain background.
  • Proficiency and demonstrated experience in transformation of large complex data sets fromsource systems to target platforms (experience in Azure solutions using data bricks platform for engineering focus on SAP ECC or SAP S4 HANA).
  • Evidence of experience in modern development practices including use of code repositories, code review processes, and test frameworks.
  • Ability to introduce innovative ways of organising,managingand integrating data to ensure its quality and ability to be used as a distinctive asset to generate a return.
  • Leads by example and models behaviours that support a culture of safety, health and wellness.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to communicateand present information with purpose, clarity and impact.
