Manager – Data Management Architect
The opportunity
We’re hiring an experienced Data Management Architect that is an expert in the modern data engineering and data management. The Data Management Architect will design the architecture for data ingestion, data preparation/transformation, data governance, data security, data training and other functions for complex enterprise applications. Deep understanding of structured and unstructured data management in context of AI training and fine tuning. Data formats and storage capabilities with performance considerations in the selection of storage systems and formats. The candidate should thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about enabling scalable AI solutions.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop effective data management architecture designs for implementation into enterprise applications and internal EY platforms.
- Support data management tool selection and verification.
- Develop best practices for data architecture/engineering design patterns in AI native applications.
- Execute application assessments based on experience and select AI and conventional data architecture and dataops analysis tools.
- Assess new proposed projects to insure they are leveraging best data architecture practices into architecture design and implementation.
- Collaborate with other architectural experts in AI, Security and Infrastructure to insure balanced and practical outcomes.
- Support strategic business development activities for emerging technology.

To qualify you must have
- 5-10+ years of experience in data management/engineering and associated architecture for products.
- Understand data management in an AI environment (embedding models, vector/graph databases, inferencing pipelines for NLP, Vision and ML models including LLM etc..)
- Use of data management and analytics frameworks for application development Databricks, Snowflake, Starburst etc..
- Understand storage formats and applications (sql, document, object, filesystem, active streaming, Parquet, CSV, JSON, pdf etc…).
- Familiarity with data management movement, data copy protection, and other data management techniques etc….
- Expertise in determining recovery point and recovery time objectives and design principles to satisfy the availability metrics
- Expertise in the design of data availability for distributed systems to actively manage federated data management, data virtualization, data movement, data security and data governance.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Experience with large-scale cross functional software development projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,500 to $230,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,700 to $261,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
