Interaction Designer, Senior Associate-Various Locations (Philadelphia, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Portland, Phoenix, New York)

The opportunity

As an interaction designer, you’ll be a strong communicator and conceptual thinker with a proven ability to visually and verbally present digital interactive solutions necessary for the enhancement of the end-user experience. You’ll focus on user experience, digital content representation and visual aesthetic while designing interactive digital products, environments, systems and services. You’ll consult with internal clients and collaborate with designers and developers to transform complex ideas to user-friendly and easy-to-use interactive products. You’ll apply information architecture that focuses on the organization and flow of information within digital interactive products.

Your key responsibilities

You can expect to conduct design consultations to determine client goals and define product interactions. You’ll create pitch decks, wireframes and storyboards that illustrate key product interactions, rapid prototypes to validate design concepts, GUI (graphic user interface) and simplify designs while integrating a mix of interaction and visual experience into the digital product.


You’ll design user experiences from low-fidelity sketches to high-fidelity pixel-perfect mockups and develop user experience concepts including usage scenarios, journey maps and personas analysis. You’ll compile end-user, business and technical requirements to create product information architecture and conduct product testing to identify problems and areas for improvement within the customer experience.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Interactive Media Design, Web Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, User Experience, Interaction Design or related discipline
  • Five-plus years of related design and technical experience
  • Proven work experience in interaction design including UX/UI
  • Creative digital portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and design skills
  • Proven ability in graphic design inclusive of drawing and sketching, color theory, use of texture, typography, visual presentation development and layout
  • Strong ability to design with accessibility in mind (ADA and Section 508 compliance)
  • Strong ability to recognize and predict use cases and user interaction, including MVPs (minimal viable products) or happy path, and incorporate them into designs
  • Proficiency in graphic design, motion graphics, digital art with a sensitivity to typography, color, layout, and a general awareness of materials/textures
  • Experience with responsive web design and frameworks that incorporate strong grid principles such as Bootstrap
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, debugging and testing for quality and reliability of deliverables
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Animate, Dreamweaver) and prototyping software (such as Adobe XD, InVision or Sketch)
  • Knowledge of Modern SharePoint Framework and integration of O365
  • Proficient in content management systems (such as AEM, Four Winds Interactive, WordPress) and how to apply live data streams or content from different sources to applications
  • Proficient in the creation and application of interactive designs into the user experience (such as AR/VR, 3D asset creation, animation, data visualization)
  • Proficient in HTML5, CSS3 with understanding of ASP.NET, JavaScript, XML
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience successfully mentoring peers in developing technical and creative skills including critiquing projects and providing constructive feedback in a virtual environment
  • Versatile and flexible communication skills, active listening and diplomacy with business partners, project owners, managers and team members
  • Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed agency or in-house team environment developing a range of creative initiatives
