The opportunity
The ECRM Professional Licensing Compliance Associate supports firm professionals in meeting mandatory licensing / certification requirements. The role applies firm policy and regulatory guidance, conducts research and analysis, resolves or escalates licensing matters, and drives compliance processes to timely completion. The Associate serves as a responsive point of contact, documents decisions and due diligence, and contributes to risk mitigation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
This role is part of a centralized licensing compliance function that works across the organization to identify, manage, and monitor risk. The Associate develops a strong working knowledge of licensing policies, regulatory requirements, and the compliance framework; supports professionals obtaining or renewing required licenses; advises on complex or unique situations; and provides clear updates and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders. Work is performed with limited supervision and appropriate oversight.
Your key responsibilities

• Review requests and supporting information for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with firm and regulatory requirements.
• Drive matters to resolution by following up on requests, clarifying information needs, answering licensing questions, and communicating next steps.
• Conduct internal and external research; reconcile information; assess unique or complex circumstances; and develop practical, well-supported recommendations.
• Partner with professionals and licensing authorities to resolve licensing issues, including initial, reciprocal, renewal, or rejected applications, as applicable.
• Identify and promptly escalate sensitive, complex, quality, confidentiality, or risk matters that require additional review.
• Participate actively in meetings with area and service line leadership, General Counsel’s Office, ECRM, and other stakeholders by sharing updates, insights, questions, and recommendations.
• Document work performed, findings, decisions, and supporting rationale in appropriate systems or work programs to maintain a clear review record.
• Use analytical and project management methods to organize work, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and provide regular status updates.
• Build effective relationships across ECRM and the firm; serve as a liaison among professionals, risk management colleagues, and relevant functional teams.
• Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, team discussions, and process improvements that strengthen efficiency, consistency, controls, customer service, and risk mitigation.
• Produce timely, accurate, complete, clear, and high-quality work while protecting confidential and sensitive information.
Skills and attributes for success
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and customer service skills, with confidence engaging personnel at all levels in virtual and in-person settings.
• Excellent attention to detail, sound business judgment, critical thinking, research, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies, protocols, and structured procedures while recognizing when a matter requires escalation.
• Professional maturity and discretion in handling confidential information and communicating sensitive or difficult messages.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize workflow, adapt to change, and work independently while keeping stakeholders informed.
• Curiosity and a continuous learning mindset, including a willingness to ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions respectfully, share constructive feedback, and propose improvements.
• Commitment to collaboration, accountability, knowledge sharing, and building trusted relationships across the organization.
