The opportunity
This is an opportunity to become part of the EY insurance business consulting success story in Greece and across Europe.
You will support clients in strengthening their risk management, governance and regulatory compliance frameworks, including through outsourced or co-sourced risk management services, regulatory advisory support, and the design and enhancement of risk and compliance operating models.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary and globally connected team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of insurance risk topics and services, including but not limited to:
- Own Risk and Solvency Assessment
- Risk Management Framework
- Regulatory compliance, regulatory change and supervisory support
- Governance, Internal Controls System and Three Lines Model
- Third-party risk management, operational resilience and business continuity
- Reinsurance & capital management
- Internal models support

Your key responsibilities
- Support client engagements across the insurance, pensions and broader financial services sector in areas such as risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, internal control, operational resilience and related advisory services.
- Contribute to the design, enhancement and implementation of risk, compliance and governance frameworks, operating models, policies, processes and controls.
- Assist clients in identifying, assessing, monitoring and managing risks, including the development of risk assessment methodologies, reporting frameworks, performance indicators and governance processes.
- Support regulatory and business change initiatives through gap assessments, impact analysis and implementation planning across evolving regulatory and industry requirements.
- Prepare high-quality analyses, reports, presentations and recommendations for management, boards, committees and other stakeholders.
- Participate in client meetings, workshops and project activities, collaborating with stakeholders across Insurance business, risk and control functions.
Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, thought leadership, market research and the development of innovative service offerings.
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, delivering high-quality services while staying informed of industry developments, emerging risks and market trends.
Skills and attributes for success
- At least 1 year of relevant professional experience, in risk management, regulatory compliance, governance, internal controls, internal audit, actuarial or advisory services within the insurance, pension or financial services sector.
- A BSc or MSc degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering or another related field.
- Knowledge of the insurance sector with an understanding of insurance governance, risk management and regulatory requirements.
- Previous involvement in risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting.
- Experience supporting the development, review or implementation of policies, procedures, controls or governance documentation.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including senior management, control functions and client teams.
- Self-starter with strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, able to translate complex regulatory and risk management requirements into practical solutions.
- A committed approach to continuous professional development is required.
- Advanced business writing and verbal communication skills both in Greek and English.
- Strong team player with a passion for excellence and commitment to delivering work on time and with a flexible working style enjoying working with multi-national teams.
- A high degree of self–direction and the business acumen to work within a rapidly changing environment.
- Advanced MS office skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Working knowledge of activities relating to Solvency II – Pillar II.
- Previous involvement in the development, enhancement, implementation of the ORSA process with the associated scenarios, stresses, risk measurement and report writing.
- Previous involvement in the development of risk appetite framework and risk models for the quantification and monitoring of risks against appropriate limits and tolerances, with the use of Key Risk Indicators.
- Previous involvement in collaboration with insurance regulators for the development and enhancement of regulatory requirements and supervisory practices in the insurance sector.
- Knowledge and familiarity with key regulations for insurers, including ESG and sustainability, operational resilience, IRRD, IDD, PoG, AMLR, PRIIPs, RIS, FiDA, FICOD.
- Knowledge of insurance distribution channels and intermediaries.
- The ability to work with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of process development and documentation with the use of MS Visio or other relevant tool.
- Professional risk management qualification (e.g. PRM, IRM, CERA, FRM, etc.).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel.
