The opportunity

The Greek EY Strategy & Transactions Advisory Services (SaT) practice is the leader in Greece and South-Eastern Europe in professional financial advisory services market. Leveraging an extensive global network, our SaT team provides sector-focused advice in developing business plans, undertaking valuation engagements as well as in participating in M&A and fundraising assignments from funding sources such as venture capital / private equity funds, family offices, strategic investors, commercial banks, International Financial Institutions such as EIB or EBRD and the Recovery & Resilience Fund.

 

Our specialist real estate and hospitality industry team is under constant growth, and we are currently looking for an experienced managerial level professional to join our team in Athens. Our practice provides analytical, valuation, operational, and other business advisory services to investors, financial institutions, developers, hospitality companies, and Fortune 500 companies.

 

Working in a multi-national environment, the team works on a range of transactions, from local to cross border multinational disposals or acquisitions. Working in this creative environment, you will be given the opportunity to work and take responsibilities on challenging projects, gaining exposure to various sectors, both within Greece and the CESA region.

 

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Participate and manage advisory engagements involving financial and economic analyses of hospitality sector companies, projects, and properties, including
    • market, financial, operational and investment analyses
    • market research
    • valuations and feasibility studies
    • transaction support services
    • commercial due diligence
    • strategy design
  • Provide audit support with the review of valuation work and with the provision of input related to the hospitality sector
  • Participation in business development activities (proposals, client presentations, professional events, thought leadership)
  • Interfacing directly with clients

 

 

What we look for

Required

  • Strong academic background, including
    • a BSc in Finance / Accounting / Auditing / Economics / Civil or Architectural Engineering, or another related field with strong quantitative focus
    • an MSc in Real Estate / Hospitality / Finance / MBA, or another related field with strong quantitative focus
  • 7+ years of relevant working experience, ideally within a major Real Estate and/or Hospitality firm, in a Corporate Finance department, a Big4 professional services firm, or similar
  • Good understanding of the local hospitality industry and ability to recognize key performance drivers and emerging business, technical and industry trends
  • Excellent written and verbal skills both in Greek and English
  • Excellent knowledge in Financial Modeling (cash flow modeling experience) and MS Office packages, in particular MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, organizational and analytical/quantitative skills
  • Strong team participation skills, particularly in teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, coupled with the ability to coach and mentor others
  • Strong work initiative, willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas, while working in a multicultural corporate environment
  • Professionalism and consistency in approach to client work, internal business, and practice development

 

 

Desirable

  • Experience in a Big4 professional services firm, or another multinational firm with a focus in hospitality sector
  • An active RICS CFA certification (or in a final stage of completion)
