The opportunity

The recent disruptions to businesses globally have given rise to the increase in financial and technological innovations. The importance of accurate and complete accounting and reporting to stakeholders increases, with regulators becoming ever vigilant, while supporting our advisory clients in discussion with their auditors is necessary. In this context and with the aid of technology tools & enablers, we provide our clients with:

 

  1. technical accounting support with consolidation, financial reporting and management reporting services, purchase price allocation, carve out accounting & GAAP conversions, including drafting accounting papers, policy manuals and disclosures,
  2. assistance with the implementation of new accounting standards and provide services to support compliance with evolving financial reporting requirements,
  3. accounting advice on complex transactions,
  4. assistance with regulatory filings, including pro forma and interim financial statements, MD&A and responses to regulator’s comment letters.

 

We are seeking talented individuals with a grounding in accounting and reporting who are able to use their professional skills and experience to deliver on large service engagements. You will have interaction with company management teams and other advisers. In your role, you will be contributing to building trust in financial, management, investor reporting and capital markets. In return, our growing Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team in Greece and Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe & Central Asia (CESA) will provide access to growing, global and innovative projects and transactions to support a sound and exciting development and growth journey.

 

This opportunity will provide extensive experience in working with a range of CESA and EY colleagues from the global network.

 

 Your key responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager/Manager, you’ll be responsible for coaching and developing the team and manage engagements end-to-end, while collaborating with other teams to create value for clients, identifying, discussing and documenting in technical memos the issues that arise based on the legal and other documents.

 

You will consult with appropriate resources to solve complex accounting and reporting issues for clients and participate in sales of new transaction accounting services. As an experienced professional you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients with their reporting needs.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Finance, Accounting and a professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA)
  • At least five years of experience in accounting and reporting under IFRS.
  • Sound understanding of transaction accounting and reporting requirements
  • Deep knowledge of IFRS

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, ideally within accounting advisory, transaction accounting and/or capital markets teams
  • Experience in SOX.
  • US GAAP experience.
