Job description
Assistant / Senior (Quantitative Analytics and Treasury Services) – Financial Services – Financial Accounting Advisory Services
At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.
The opportunity
Treasury functions are facing increasing complexity—volatile FX and interest rate markets, evolving accounting and regulatory expectations, liquidity pressures, and heightened stakeholder scrutiny. Organisations are also modernising their treasury operating models and technology stacks, with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) becoming a key enabler for controls, reporting and decision making.
We are looking to grow our Treasury Services team within the Financial Services - Financial Accounting Advisory Services (“FAAS”) service line. We are seeking individuals with treasury and/or accounting advisory experience to help clients enhance their treasury strategy and governance, support hedge accounting initiatives, and deliver Treasury Management System (TMS) selection and implementation projects.
The work we deliver covers a broad spectrum of treasury and accounting advisory services. You will gain exposure to end-to-end treasury activities (cash and liquidity management, funding, FX and interest rate risk management, treasury controls and governance, banking and payments) as well as hedge accounting under IFRS/SFRS and treasury technology transformation through TMS implementation programmes.
Our Treasury Services team helps clients design and embed effective treasury frameworks, translate risk management objectives into practical hedging and hedge accounting solutions, and deliver technology-enabled change. We work closely with finance, risk, tax and IT stakeholders to drive improved controls, transparency, and decision making.
Your key responsibilities:
Treasury advisory
- Support clients in assessing and improving treasury operating models, policies, governance, controls and treasury performance metrics
- Support clients through end-to-end treasury transformation journeys, including current-state diagnostics (processes, risks, controls, organization and technology) and future state transformations
- Analyse cash and liquidity positions, funding structures and banking arrangements; identify opportunities to optimise processes and reduce cost/risk
- Assist in FX and interest rate risk assessments, hedging strategy reviews, and development of risk management frameworks
Hedge accounting advisory (IFRS/SFRS)
- Support clients in designing and implementing hedge accounting solutions, including designation documentation, risk management linkage and control considerations
- Perform and/or review hedge effectiveness assessments (prospective and retrospective, where applicable), including quantitative analysis and interpretation of results
- Assist in accounting impact assessments and valuations for hedging instruments and hedged items (e.g., FX forwards, swaps, debt instruments), and support stakeholder communications
- Perform independent derivative valuation and quantitative analysis to support audit/assurance engagements (including explaining valuation differences by analysing key inputs, model choices, assumptions, and sensitivities)
Treasury Management System (TMS) project management and implementation
- Support TMS vendor selection and implementation programmes, including requirements gathering, vendor evaluation, solution design, testing, training and go-live readiness
- Coordinate project deliverables across business and IT workstreams (e.g., cash management, deals, accounting, interfaces, bank connectivity, reporting)
- Develop high-quality project documentation and client deliverables (e.g., process maps, functional specifications, test scripts, status reports)
General
- Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Take ownership of assigned workstreams, manage timelines, and proactively communicate progress, risks and dependencies
- Coach and support junior team members through on-the-job guidance and review of work products
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong understanding (or demonstrated interest) in corporate treasury and financial risk management concepts (FX, interest rate, liquidity, funding)
- Working knowledge of hedge accounting requirements under IFRS/SFRS (e.g., documentation, effectiveness, accounting entries) or willingness to develop quickly
- Project management discipline and comfort working across business and technology stakeholders (requirements, testing, issue management)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical concepts into clear messages for non-technical audiences
- Ability to work effectively as a team member, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple engagements.
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate the following:
Within 6 months of joining, the candidate should
- Understand core treasury products and processes (cash, funding, FX/IR hedging) and contribute independently to defined workstreams
- Prepare client-ready materials such as process maps, policy summaries, hedge documentation drafts, and quantitative analyses to support recommendations
- Support TMS project activities (requirements workshops, test script preparation, UAT support, issue tracking and status reporting)
Within 1 year of joining, the candidate should
- Confidently lead smaller workstreams, manage day-to-day client interactions, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines
- Support hedge accounting implementations end-to-end, including effectiveness testing approach (including valuation), control considerations and documentation support
- Contribute to TMS implementation delivery through functional design support, testing coordination, and go-live readiness activities
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
- Relevant experience in corporate treasury, finance/accounting advisory, risk management, banking, or treasury technology/projects (assistant/senior level depending on experience)
- Fresh graduate or a minimum of 1 year of non-treasury related experience with demonstrated interest in corporate treasury and/or hedge accounting will also be considered
- A solid understanding of financial instruments used in treasury (e.g., FX forwards, swaps, options, debt instruments) and their accounting implications

Ideally, you’ll also have
- Hands-on experience in corporate treasury (cash management, funding, financial risk management, banking and payments)

- Professional qualifications such as ACCA/CPA, CFA, CTP, or relevant project management certification are advantageous
all of which will be highly advantageous in your application
