We are now seeking a full-time “Senior Consultant - Climate policies” to join our GPS Business Consulting Department in Ankara to support the implementation of projects in the area of sustainability and climate policies and be part of EY’s Center for Climate Policy. Successful candidates will find opportunities to support government institutions against the challenges that the international and national sustainability and green agenda requires.

 

Job Description

  • Lead work streams, formulate high-quality, insightful and sustainable solutions
  • Ensure work efficiency during all engagements by continuously improving processes, utilizing methodologies, tools, and technologies
  • Conduct highly complex quantitative research and analytic studies at the climate policy domains to support evidence-based policy making engagements
  • Convey a good grasp of sustainable policy issues in the areas of green finance, circular economy, sustainable development, net-zero transition, etc.
  • Provide creative solutions to problems using experience to improve processes, business and operating models
  • Be responsible for parts of the final deliverables for clients
  • Liaise with various clients and stakeholders for potential and ongoing engagements
  • Contribute to the preparation and facilitation of workshops, presentations, and training at client premises and within the team
  • Contribute to a strong client relationship through effective management of interactions with client personnel
  • Maintaining close communication, collaboration and coordination with EY Center for Climate Policy
  • Supervise and coach junior professionals, help people enhance their contribution and develop their capabilities
     

Required Qualifications

 

We are looking for senior candidates with the following qualifications;

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in management and strategy consulting studies conducted for public sector clients in the following fields: sectoral green transformation, green finance, circular economy, green and net-zero transition, climate policy drafting, smart cities and sustainable transformation and/or sustainable development
  • A relevant university degree, preferably in Economics, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, and other Engineering departments or a similar discipline from a reputable university
  • A relevant master’s / PhD degree is a plus
  • Specific experience in working with national and local government entities, municipalities, think tanks and/or academia
  • Knowledge and work experience in energy (renewable) and industry (iron and steel, cement, plastic, etc.) is an asset
  • Strong research and data analysis skills (both qualitative and quantitative)
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Specific experience in team management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (both in English and in Turkish)
  • Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills along with intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, often changing environment
  • Strong work initiative by being self-motivated and working with deadlines
  • Strong client and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • No travel restrictions inland or abroad
