Senior consultant ESG (Assurance)
Job description
Your day starts with a team call in EY's Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), focused on guiding clients through ESG reporting challenges. This morning, you're prepping a global client for their upcoming audit under the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). You walk them through the results of a double materiality analysis, explaining how they can align their sustainability practices with financial reporting standards like ESRS.
Later, you dive into a gap assessment for another client, identifying areas where their ESG reporting needs improvement. You work with the FAAS team to refine an ESG roadmap, integrating key sustainability data points and controls into their workflows.
In the afternoon, you meet with a retail client to build a robust internal control framework, ensuring their reporting is audit-ready. You also discuss how to automate ESG data collection and integrate it with their financial reporting systems.
Before wrapping up, you join a knowledge-sharing session with your FAAS colleagues to stay ahead of evolving regulations. Every day, you’re helping businesses become more sustainable and compliant, driving real impact in the ESG space.
You will work closely within the team to provide clients with the following:
- Conducting and evaluating legal entity scoping, double materiality analysis and GAP assessment in order to comply with the CSRD;
- Advising on non-financial reporting, including ESRS and ISSB standards;
- Interacting with clients to comprehend their value chain (including impacts, risks and opportunities), to ultimately guide and implement the sustainability report and the ESG reporting manual;
- Guiding clients to achieve their ESG vision and translating this into implementation roadmaps to ultimately achieve integrated financial and management reporting;
- Assisting in establishing robust internal control frameworks and audit readiness;
- Facilitating the seamless integration of various ESG datapoints and KPI’s into the client’s operational workflows;
- Exposure or experience in ESG-related digital solutions and automation projects will be an added advantage.
