The opportunity
For insurers, technology adoption has been a key imperative across the board both as a means to cut costs and also to enhance product offerings, customer experience & efficiency.

They face business & tech demands such as insurance ecosystems, straight-through-processing & claims automation, subscription models for insurance, and moving towards the direct channel.

We need your help to advise our clients on defining and implementing their IT strategies, operating models, IT architecture, innovation programs, or large technology implementations.


We are looking for a Senior Manager as part of our Technology Transformation Team, specialized in the Insurance industry and/or Insurance specific solutions (e.g. Fadata, GuideWire, FintechOS). Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, a key part of your role will be to actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships within the insurance industry. You'll also identify potential business opportunities for EY within existing engagements and share these with your team members as appropriate. With your team, you will build the EY Tech brand at our insurance clients.

At the same time, you'll manage projects, anticipate and identify risks within engagements, and share any issues with senior members of the team. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members, and help them to develop.

  • Generate new business opportunities - Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with other EY team members across all practices to serve client need
  • Quickly understand complex strategy concepts – E.g. applying advanced analytics and considering the disruptive trends which are prevalent in today’s economy
  • Deliver quality services - Value and model excellent client service by establishing goals and implementation plans to achieve high-quality deliverables within expected timeframes. 
  • Develop people - Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/training. Foster an innovative and team-oriented work environment.  Coach younger team members and support their career development


To qualify for the role, you must have 

  • At the Senior Manager level, a minimum of 8 -10 years experience with a consulting firm, a strategic/consulting/management role at an insurer
  • Experience in the leading and delivery of a variety of strategy projects; analysis, benchmarking, value creating strategies, strategic planning process; operating model design; IT architecture design, adoption of new technologies (e.g., cloud, AI, digital technologies etc.) and leading large scale technology transformation projects
  • Experience in Business development including proposal development and client relationship building
  • Thorough understanding of the Insurance industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills in writing, presenting, and influencing
  • Fluent (oral and written) in English and Dutch


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Well-articulated interest and vision of digital trends, market developments, and regulatory changes in the financial services industry and how this impacts our clients
  • Experience in one or more of the following: analyzing systems and procedures, stakeholder management, cloud technologies, ERP/CRM implementation, software testing, and project management
  • Experience with Insurance specific solutions (e.g. Fadata, GuideWire, FintechOS).
