The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Manager as part of our Technology Transformation Team, specialized in Wealth and Asset Management industry and/or solutions (e.g. BlackRock Aladdin). We typically advise clients on defining and implementing their IT strategies, operating models, IT architecture, innovation programs or large technology implementations. In this role, your ideas and input are valued and you will have a lot of freedom to contribute to our and your own success.

 

Your key responsibilities

You’ll work with clients in the financial services industry such as banks, insurers, wealth management firms, pension funds, and payment service firms to improve their customer journey, business processes, the way they store and use their data, and how they work and drive innovation – all by seeking ways to use (FinTech) technology. 

 

As a Senior Manager, an important part of your role will be to actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You'll also identify potential business opportunities for EY within existing engagements and share these with your team members as appropriate. Similarly, you'll manage projects, anticipating and identifying risks within engagements and sharing any issues with senior members of the team. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex strategy concepts, including applying advanced analytics and considering the disruptive trends which are prevalent in today’s economy
  • Deliver quality services. Value and model excellent client service by establishing goals and implementation plans to achieve high quality deliverables within expected timeframes. 
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management.  Focus on deliverables and client business priorities.  Manage expectations of service and scope.  Understand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers and business trends
  • Develop people - Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/training. Foster an innovative and team-oriented work environment.  Coach younger team members and support their career development
  • Demonstrate high level of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new knowledge. Keep up-to-date with current developments and trends in consulting services capabilities and industry knowledge.  Get involved in the development of points of view and market visibility opportunities
  • Generate new business opportunities. Understand Ernst & Young and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with other Ernst & Young team members across all practices to serve client need

 

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have 

  • At the Senior Manager level, a minimum of 8+ years’ experience with a consulting firm offering strategy services along with a successful track record in the strategic space either as a strategy consultant or a role in industry within strategy planning
  • A post graduate degree or relevant professional designation (MBA or master’s in Information Science/ Technology are preferred)
  • Experience in the leading and delivery of a variety of strategy projects; analysis, benchmarking, value creating strategies, strategic planning process; operating model design; IT architecture design, adoption of new technologies (e.g., cloud, AI, digital technologies etc.) and leading large scale technology transformation projects
  • Experience in financial services with specific industry focus in Insurance, Banking, Wealth & Asset Management or Pension
  • Technology and strategy consulting experience with large financial services organizations, selling and delivering successful, high-impact strategy projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills written, presentation, and influencing
  • Fluent (oral and written) in English and Dutch

 

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Well-articulated interest and vision of digital trends, market developments, and regulatory changes in the financial services industry and how this impacts our clients
  • Experience in Business development including proposal development and client relationship building
  • Ideally, you also have experience in one or more of the following: analysing systems and procedures, stakeholder management, cloud technologies, ERP/CRM implementation, software testing, and project management
