Your new job | About your main responsibilities   

Become a  Senior Manager Business Transformation at EY, shaping the future of financial services, with a focus on the Banking industry. The Business Transformation team is part of our Business Consulting service line. EY is looking for a passionate leader with substantial (strategy & delivery) experience in business transformation, project management and building relationships. Your background in the banking industry will help identify and address industry challenges through innovative solutions. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Take a leading role in shaping and delivering business proposals and scoping documents 

  • Drive transformative change and growth with your strategic vision 

  • Engagement Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex, Business transformation projects, managing multi-disciplinary alongside delivery budgets and timelines. 

  • Business Development & Market Expansion: Spearhead commercial growth within the Dutch and European markets by identifying organizational data bottlenecks, crafting compelling business-led proposals, and building long-term alliances with partners in the Retail, commercial and Corporate banking industry. Proactively builds and maintains a senior network in the Dutch banking sector; attends, organizes, and speaks at industry forums, roundtables, and events. 

  • Teaming & Talent Cultivation: Direct, coach, and inspire managers and consultants within the Business Transformation team and collaborate across teams to integrate diverse insights. 

 

Work on high-impact, cutting-edge projects with a strong focus on the banking sector. You’ll help leading banks, drive large-scale AI transformations, scaling AI capabilities and equipping leadership teams to embed AI across the organisation. Shape the future of banking by contributing in building banks and advise clients on go-to-market strategies, supporting entry into new markets through sharp opportunity assessments and clear, actionable strategies. 

You’ll also work on next-generation Business-led (Agentic) transformation, combining AI and data to unlock new value and accelerate transformation at scale across banking.

The Business Transformation team consists of almost 40 professionals. The team has a gender ratio of 55/45. Colleagues come from 9 different countries: Turkey, South Africa, France, Latvia, China, Hungary, Norway, UK, and the Netherlands. The average age within the team is around 30 years. The team has an open and collaborative culture and is socially active. There are regular social events, including drinks and team sports, as well as an annual ski trip

Our Amsterdam office islocated at the Zuidas: a bustling area full of companies. In our Cross Towers, we welcome up to 1,500 people every day.  Your skills and strengths | About your unique contribution   

  • Experience & Background:  

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience 

  • A completed Masters degree (WO level) in, for example, Strategic Management, Business Administration, Finance, Strategic Entrepreneurship, or a related field. 

  • Proven track record designing and delivering large-scale, business-led transformations; not purely IT or process-driven, but anchored in business strategy and value 

  • Deep banking industry expertise (preferably retail, corporate; optionally investment banking or payments; ideally more than one) 

  • Hands-on experience with technology, data, and AI as transformation enablers, not as ends in themselves 

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in high-pressure, high-stakes client environments with senior (C-suite/ExCo) stakeholder exposure 

  • AI-native and an explorative mindset to investigate new topics such as AgenticAI 

  • Familiar with the EY service line ecosystem (or equivalent at a peer firm) and able to cross-sell and collaborate across competencies 

  • Working knowledge of regulatory transformation in banking (e.g., Basel IV, DORA, AMLA, ESG reporting) and familiarity with core banking modernization, data platforms, or AI-driven operating model design 

  • Commercial Capability 

  • Active business development experience. Has originated, shaped, and closed large engagements (€1M+ range), not just delivered them 

  • Able to carry a revenue target and account for pipeline independently 

  • Comfortable leading proposals, responding to RFPs, and navigating complex procurement processes 

  • Leadership & Delivery 

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across strategy, technology, and change workstreams 

  • Capable of serving as the “client owner”; accountable for relationship, quality, and commercial outcomes simultaneously 

  • Experience contributing to practice development and developing junior staff - methodology, talent, proposition design - beyond individual project delivery 

 

Ideally, you’ll also have  

  • Dutch language - full professional proficiency is a plus  

Pre-existing senior relationships at ING, ABN AMRO, de Volksbank, or Dutch subsidiaries of global banks 

  • Understanding of the Dutch regulatory environment (DNB, AFM) and how it shapes transformation agendas
