The opportunity

The Strategy and Transactions (SaT) Talent Executive team are bold, creative, connected business partners and advisors delivering strategic impact to our SaT business. Working alongside Global and Area SaT leaders to design and execute talent strategy that creates the right mix, mindset, and moments for our SaT people and business.


Work with a close-knit team on multiple talent projects like the NextGen Women of the Year Competition or Connected Capital Advisor whilst getting an insight in to the SaT talent strategy. Partner with our inspiring Global SaT Talent Leader on key business interactions, including contributions for leadership meetings (e.g. Global & Area SaT leadership groups, Global SaT Executive Committee and Global SaT Talent Team meetings), ensuring development of content, conducting talent research and reference materials required.


The role will also work closely with Talent colleagues to support delivery of projects such as: succession planning, employee listening, pulse survey initiatives and reporting (i.e. workforce planning, headcount) for the Talent team as well as contribute to the larger strategic talent projects happening in the team like Next Wave Careers.

Your key responsibilities


Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Work closely with the Global SaT Talent Leader and Director to contribute to the successful operation of the SaT Talent team. 
  • Work alongside the Global SaT Talent Leader to ensure requirements, issues and actions raised by senior business leaders are prioritized and addressed by the Global SaT Talent team or wider Talent eco-system
  • As required, prepare presentations and reports to support effective engagement with business leadership Work alongside the SaT Talent leaders to help build out Talent Consulting capability across the team. Attend cross-SaT meetings to identify common needs, change initiatives/priorities and areas for improvement. Capture actions and help to drive the right outcomes. 
  • Ensure the availability of quality Talent reporting from the SaT Talent team to the business (e.g. SaT headcount, workforce planning, DAP hiring, D&I etc). Where required, develop and maintain reports, highlight points of interest and make recommendations on how to leverage the data to drive key Talent priorities (working closely with PDRA)
  • As directed by SaT Talent Leaders complete research on emerging trends/issues either internal or external and present highlights to leadership 
  • Where necessary work to assess Talent related SaT/business performance issues. Engage and work with the appropriate Talent function to consider appropriate solutions and (where necessary) raise requests for change investment via the approval channels
  • As directed by SaT Talent leaders and Talent Consultants help respond to complex and urgent Talent queries pertaining to key stakeholder groups, conduct analysis and/or leverage experience across Talent ecosystem to provide guidance and address talent matters 
  • Support on delivery of key Talent processes and projects and provide project coordination for the Global SaT Talent team


Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: 

  • Awareness of business strategy and performance trends
  • Ability to leverage information and/or internal data to prepare reports or presentations on behalf of the Global SAT Talent Leader or leadership team. Ensure data and analytics can be presented effectively to leadership 
  • Ensure availability of regular reports working with colleagues across Talent and HRS. Analyze and maintain reporting.
  • Analyze business issues/opportunities as they related to Talent/workforce issues. Assess root causes and propose solutions
  • Partner with Talent teams to ensure the effective operation of the SaT Talent team


Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Work with Global SaT Talent Executive to oversee and coordinate various initiatives as directed
  • Where required, work as an SMR for the Service Line and input to the design, development and deployment of Talent solutions such as EY Listening program
  • Build and maintain relationships and an internal network, including effective partnerships with senior stakeholders, across EY practices/departments that will enable personal effectiveness in the position


Skills and attributes for success


To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A self-starter who is proactive, constantly thinking ahead and can anticipate next steps
  • Ability to work closely with senior leaders to clarify needs/requirements and form robust relationships
  • Strong experience in using PowerPoint to deliver engaging and impactful presentations to global leadership
  • Strong analytical ability to work alongside our reporting GDS team member to analyze data, capture quality insights and form suggested actions / recommendations for leadership
  • Capability to run reports as required such as: People Insights, Qualtrics and other EY reports
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and pivot tables
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience of working in fast-paced and ambiguous environments to deliver results
  • Creative thinking to come up with new ideas and innovation for the Talent team to assist on project deliverables

  • Significant relationship management skills – ability to work with and build trust of business leaders
  • Teaming skills - partner effectively across talent ecosystem and wider EY firm
  • Communication skills – ability to convey complex issues succinctly and clearly in a timely way
  • Organizational skills - the ability to set priorities, operate within budget and effective time frames
  • Cope with ambiguity - to drive change and performance outcomes in a complex and agile environment

  • Degree qualification


Other Requirements:

  • Due to global nature of the role; travel and willingness to work alternative hours will be required
  • Due to global nature of the role; English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication will be required
