Your role

Today, societies demand more accountability from the organizations they work for, buy from, and invest in. Organizations that effectively embed sustainability in their approach to creating long-term value are best positioned to measure, demonstrate and benefit from the value they create. In the coming years, organizations will be required to report their sustainability information in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Our team supports organizations in their CSRD journey. This includes digitalization of the ESG journey, process and control assessment, CSRD reporting as well as project management of the end-to-end journey.
For this reason, we are looking for a high-performing, innovative and enthusiastic Manager to join our growing team of professionals, who want to help clients structure their ESG and non-financial reporting processes.
In this role you will support Chief Financial Officers (CFO’s) and business controllers in creating and optimizing their ESG digital infrastructure and reporting controls. This opportunity will enable you to work at a high level with leading organizations, collaborate with EY colleagues globally and across different service lines. There are also plenty of opportunities to work in different focus areas within the wider team.
The team
Our Financial Advisory and Accounting Services (FAAS) department in the Netherlands is home to a team of more than 60 colleagues who share a deep passion for sustainability and creating long-term value. Within FAAS, we provide expert advice and support to our clients in a variety of areas, including, CSRD value chain scoping, Double Materiality Assessment, ESRS gap assessment, ESG data infrastructure, non-financial reporting controls governance and sustainability audit readiness. Our specialized sub-teams work diligently to promote sustainable practices and optimizing transparent reporting. We are committed to fostering collaboration and driving systemic change to build a more sustainable and resilient future for all.
Responsibilities
- Manage and/or deliver consulting projects from start to finish. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a variety of industries and help organizations manage and report on sustainable value creation.
- Design, test and implement sustainability reporting/processes/legislation/KPIs in line with the EU Taxonomy, ESRSs (CSRD), CSDDD and CBAM.
- Conduct ESG Impact and Materiality Assessments based on the double materiality principles.
- Support in preparing for compliance with certification initiatives (such as TCFD, CDP, SBTi).
- Provide input and content for – and present at – webinars, workshops, and conferences.
We are looking for professionals with
- You have completed a master’s degree in sustainability science, sustainable finance, accounting or economics or any specialized field relevant to ESG reporting.
- Experience with environmental compliance and EHS generally would be a plus.
- You have at least 4-6 years of experience in sustainability consulting and/or assurance.
- You have practical experience with sustainability reporting, and more specifically with CSRD and EU Taxonomy.
- You have excellent communication skills, in both English and Dutch.

About the office - You can perform this function from our office in Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Utrecht.
Application procedure – How can you prepare for a long life together?
After we have received and selected your CV, a short telephone introduction will follow. After that, you will take an online personality test in your own time. After completing the personality test, we will schedule your interview, which will take place with the Recruiter and someone from the team. If the first interview is positive, a second interview with a Partner will follow. After successfully completing these interviews, an offer to strengthen our team will follow.
Pre-employment screening
Part of the application procedure is an (online) assessment and a pre-employment screening.
