Your new job | About your main responsibilities 
As a Consultant within EY's Indirect Tax practice, you will help multinational organizations manage their indirect tax obligations while supporting them in navigating the rapidly evolving world of digital tax. Your role will be split between indirect tax compliance managed services and e-invoicing projects, providing a unique opportunity to develop expertise in both traditional indirect tax and emerging digital tax requirements.

 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Support the preparation and review of VAT compliance obligations for financial services multinational clients.
  • Manage VAT automation projects for multinational clients.
  • Assist clients with e-invoicing, e-reporting and digital tax transformation initiatives, including the analysis of invoicing processes and ERP systems.
  • Translate regulatory e-invoicing requirements into operational and system requirements.
  • Collaborate with tax, technology professionals across EY's global network.
  • Contribute to business development activities, proposals and client presentations.

At EY, we have a dedicated global business unit – our Financial Services Organization (FSO) – focused on serving the financial services industry. Our FSO professionals support leading banks, asset managers, insurance companies and other financial institutions with the challenges and opportunities arising from an increasingly complex regulatory and digital landscape.

Within FSO Tax, you will join a growing team specializing in Indirect Tax. We help clients optimize and manage their VAT processes through a combination of technical expertise and technology-enabled solutions. Our focus is on supporting financial services organizations in meeting regulatory obligations efficiently while preparing for future tax and reporting developments.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary and international teams. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are at the core of our culture. On a day-to-day basis, you will interact with a broad range of stakeholders, including tax, finance, operations and technology teams within client organizations, as well as EY professionals across our global network.

As indirect tax compliance and digital reporting requirements continue to evolve, continuous learning is an essential part of the role. You will receive support from experienced colleagues and have access to a wide range of training and development opportunities, allowing you to build expertise at the intersection of indirect tax, technology and financial services.

 

You will primarily work from our Amsterdam office and client locations, while flexible and hybrid working arrangements are fully supported.

Our Amsterdam office is located at the Zuidas: a bustling area full of companies. In our Cross Towers, we welcome up to 1,500 people every day. Your skills and strengths | About your unique contribution 

  • Bachelor degree in Tax Law, Tax Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Information Management or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of experience in indirect tax, VAT compliance, tax technology or a related advisory environment.
  • Strong interest in indirect tax, technology and digital transformation.
  • Knowledge of or affinity with e-invoicing, e-reporting and ERP-driven business processes.
  • Eager to learn and develop both technical indirect tax and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in international and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks and client deliverables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch is considered an advantage.
