As part of the rapidly growing Supply Chain & Operations (SC&O) department – ​​54 FTE – the practice focuses on themes such as transforming and (re)designing operations, supply chains, (smart) factories, logistics and warehousing. Within these domains, the Supply Chain team focuses specifically on designing and implementing supply chain transformations within companies. By making the customer the owner of the transformation, EY ensures that the transformation is and remains supported from within. Nowadays, companies need to do more than just meet customer needs — they need to anticipate them. In response, companies and their supply chains need to be able to deliver as fast as customers think. This need for greater agility, while being mindful of the bottom line, places pressure on supply chain planning and the planners who are expected to keep pace within an ever-accelerating environment. This results in related planning opportunities for our Supply Chain team. For our growing Supply Chain and Operations practice in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), we are looking for a (Senior) Manager Supply Chain Planning to strengthen our Planning team.


Your key responsibilities

The (Senior) Manager Supply Chain Planning is the driving force behind meaningful transformation projects at our customers, and your key role will be to deliver projects that improve our client’s business performance. Drawing on your knowledge, skills and experience, you will manage Supply Chain Planning transformation projects and identify and start new related projects. Further responsibilities are:

  • Lead the evaluation of the company’s supply chain universe and provide guidance on the in-depth assessments of planning processes, maturity levels and improvement opportunities;
  • Manage the successful end-to-end delivery of multiple projects (among others in agile sprints);
  • Implement technology-driven planning solutions;
  • Translate clients’ business needs into functional and technical requirements in order to optimize their Supply Chain planning process;
  • Provide our clients with EY supported insights and pragmatic recommendations to further improve business performance and operational efficiency;
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities in an international environment.

To qualify for the role, you must have


  • Ideally, 8+ years of (internal) consultancy experience in supply chain, with experience in the Supply Chain Planning field, for example in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Production Planning.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, entrepreneurial spirit, intrinsic motivation to help establish & strengthen relationships with our clients, drive, enthusiasm, conceptual thinking, communication and influencing skills and pragmatism in execution.
  • Leadership experience with a people-oriented mindset and commitment to support the development of others, through taking on coaching and counselling roles for team members in an international environment.
  • Minimum WO bachelor certificate (for example a degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering or related) and fluent language skills in Dutch & English.


Ideally, you’ll also have


  • Experience with planning related systems, for example SAP Integrated Business Planning, OMP planning solutions, Kinaxis or related. 
  • Experience with pressing C-suite issues and working with C-suite executives at the client.
  • An open and flexible mindset on working abroad and on working on different projects within the supply chain.
