The opportunity
Senior Consultant – Portfolio Coordination – Operational Excellence
As part of EY’s Supply Chain Consulting team, you will support a client-facing Strategic Operations Office by coordinating portfolio tasks and activities in line with the agreed planning-cycle timetable. Working closely with the Strategic Planning function and initiative stakeholders, you will maintain delivery discipline, organize meetings and inputs, track actions and deadlines, and support consistent communication across the portfolio. The role is expected to operate in a secondment-style environment and requires frequent travel, including extended periods at client locations.
Skills and attributes for success
- Coordinate portfolio tasks and activities in accordance with the approved planning-cycle timetable and agreed governance requirements.
- Work closely with the Strategic Planning function, initiative owners, and internal stakeholders to organize inputs, meetings, reviews, and approvals.
- Maintain portfolio calendars, trackers, action logs, decision logs, risk and issue registers, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor deadlines, actions, dependencies, and stakeholder submissions, following up proactively to support timely completion.
- Prepare meeting agendas, presentation materials, status updates, minutes, and clear action summaries for portfolio governance forums.
- Consolidate information from multiple stakeholders and ensure portfolio records are complete, accurate, current, and consistently structured.
- Support coordination of business planning workshops, leadership reviews, and strategy execution activities.
- Identify schedule conflicts, missing inputs, and emerging coordination risks and escalate them through the appropriate channels.
- Build effective working relationships across client teams and provide responsive day-to-day coordination support.
- Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement of portfolio coordination and Strategic Operations Office processes.
- Work effectively within a client environment and travel frequently, including for extended assignments, as required.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Strategy, Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience coordinating portfolio, strategy, transformation, consulting, project, or planning activities.
- Demonstrated experience managing task schedules, stakeholder inputs, action tracking, meeting coordination, and planning-cycle deliverables.
- Strong communication, coordination, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively against fixed timetables.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently and remain at client locations for extended periods.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience in utilities or another highly regulated public-sector organization.
- Exposure to enterprise strategy planning, strategy execution, transformation programs, PMO activities, or portfolio governance.
- Experience supporting workshops, governance forums, executive meetings, or cross-functional planning activities.
- Experience working in consulting, professional services, or secondment-style client assignments.
- Arabic language capability.
