The opportunity:

As a Data Engineer in a consulting role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures that enable efficient data processing and analysis for our clients. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions that drive business insights and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain data models, ETL processes, and data integration solutions to ensure data quality and accessibility.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, ensuring reliability and accuracy of data delivery.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and analytics to provide innovative solutions to clients.
• Document data engineering processes, architectures, and best practices for knowledge sharing and compliance.

Skills and attributes for success

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or ETL development, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with SQL.
• Familiarity with data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
