Manager (Business Tax Advisory)
Job description
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Law, Taxation, or a related field
- Advanced degrees such as MBA, Masters, LLM, or professional qualifications like CPA, ACCA, ADIT, or equivalent are advantageous
- Extensive knowledge of business taxes in Kazakhstan and internationally
- Over 7 years of relevant experience in corporate taxation, preferably within a large professional services firm or a similar environment
- Proven managerial, organizational, and project management experience
- Ability to understand and apply complex tax and industry concepts to specific client scenarios
- Strong managerial, organizational, project management, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and supervise teams of EY personnel and client personnel
- Proficiency in business and tax technical writing
- Fluent in English
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Access, and data mining tools
- Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee high-level management and successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and high-quality client service
- Collaborate with other service lines, geographies, and diverse work groups to build advisory services, related opportunities, and long-term relationships
- Focus on key client business strategies and related tax policies to develop a pipeline
- Manage overall client engagements, monitor progress and deliverables, implement standardized processes, resolve or escalate issues as appropriate, and drive performance-improvement solutions
- Assist partners in generating new business opportunities, building client networks, and growing the client base in the region through marketing and business development initiatives
- Create, lead, and motivate high-performing teams, fostering a positive learning culture, and coaching team members to aid their development
- Manage engagement economics and communicate significant issues, fees, and estimates-to-complete to partners and clients
