Your key responsibilities

Technical Excellence

 

  • Role Purpose The individual will serve as a strategic partner, aiding clients in achieving institutional goals, enhancing stakeholder networks, and promoting national initiatives in maritime, cruise tourism, port development, and sustainable growth. This role requires a versatile leader with robust business development skills, policy coordination expertise, and cross-sector advisory experience. Roles & Responsibilities Generalist and Business Development (Mandatory) i) Spearhead strategic business development efforts in maritime, cruise tourism, port infrastructure, and related sectors. ii) Identify new revenue opportunities, partnerships, and investments that align with organizational growth objectives. iii) Cultivate relationships with industry leaders, international organisations, port authorities, and investors. iv) Act as a trusted advisor and managing cross-functional challenges v) Oversee client head office workflows, including strategic planning, documentation, communication, and governance. vi) Enhance organisational effectiveness through structured problem-solving and executive coordination. vii) Serve as the alternate representative for the client Head in key internal and external meetings. Stakeholder Consultation & Engagement i) Conduct organized consultations with government entities, port operators, cruise lines, coastal states, and private sector partners. ii) Facilitate consensus among diverse interest groups to achieve actionable outcomes from consultations. Inter-Ministerial Coordination i) Collaborate with various central/state ministries to ensure smooth project progression. ii) Prepare briefs, policy notes, and strategic documents for inter-ministerial reviews, steering committees, and task forces. Team Leadership & Project Oversight i) Ensure timely completion of project milestones, stakeholder reports, and leadership dashboards. ii) Mentor junior staff and foster a high-performance team culture. Maritime & Port Sector Expertise i) Provide expert advice on port operations, maritime policy, shipping ecosystem needs, and infrastructure development. ii) Assist in evaluating port readiness, cruise terminal requirements, and coastal tourism development opportunities. Cruise Sector Advisory i) Advise on cruise tourism strategies, including home-porting, itinerary development, port innovation, ship-side services, and regulatory facilitation. ii) Engage with global cruise lines and industry associations to enhance India’s cruise ecosystem. Data Analytics & Insights i) Oversee the integration of data analytics for market assessments, feasibility studies, and performance monitoring. ii) Utilize quantitative insights to support evidence-based decision-making and policy recommendations. Green Initiatives & Sustainability i) Lead strategic efforts on decarbonization, ESG integration, green shipping corridors, sustainable port development, and climate-aligned infrastructure. ii) Collaborate with environmental agencies and innovation partners to incorporate sustainability into all maritime projects.

 


Skills and attributes

To qualify for the role you must have
Qualification

  • •\tGraduate or post-graduate degree in Management, Public Policy, Maritime Studies, Engineering, Economics, or related fields.

Experience

  • •\tOver 15 years in business development, public policy, maritime infrastructure, consulting, or government relations. •\tProven experience in stakeholder management, inter-ministerial coordination, and leading cross-functional teams. •\tPreferred experience in cruise tourism, maritime projects, or the port sector. •\tDesirable experience supporting CXO-level leaders. •\tDemonstrated success in designing and implementing sustainability initiatives, data-driven strategies, and large-scale government programs
