Manager – Process and Controls - Risk Consulting

The opportunity

As a Manager within our Risk Consulting service line, you will lead the delivery of financial verification services across a nationally significant Defence infrastructure program. Working closely with government stakeholders, contractors and multidisciplinary EY teams, you will provide independent review over complex commercial and financial arrangements, by validating the integrity of costs claimed, assessing compliance with contractual requirements, identifying financial and commercial risk, and providing clear insights to support accountable program delivery. This is an opportunity to work on a high profile, long term engagement while developing trusted client relationships and leading the delivery of impactful outcomes. You will also have opportunities to contribute to broader Risk Consulting engagements including work in Contract Assurance, Internal Audit and Third-Party Risk Management.

This is a hybrid position based in our Tarntanya – Adelaide office.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead Financial Verification, Compensation Audit and contract review activities across a major Defence infrastructure program, with accountability for delivering high quality, robust and defensible work products across complex commercial arrangements.
  • Deliver process and controls reviews, helping strengthen governance, transparency and compliance from commencement through the delivery of the project.
  • Build trusted relationships with client and contractor stakeholders, facilitating discussions, communicating findings and supporting the resolution of identified issues.
  • Drive high-quality Audit outcomes through data enabled assurance approaches, overseeing reporting, issue management and the delivery of clear, actionable insights.
  • Lead and develop high performing teams, coordinating multidisciplinary EY resources while fostering collaboration, quality and continuous improvement.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience in Financial Audit, Contract Assurance or Cost Verification Audits.
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance (or hold an existing clearance).
  • Strong financial analysis, stakeholder management and Audit reporting capabilities, with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly and confidently.
  • Strong project management capability, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, manage competing priorities and deliver to agreed timeframes.

Ideally, you'll also have the skills and attributes below, but don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes. We're interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Experience working with reimbursable cost contracts, alliance or collaborative delivery models.
  • Experience supporting major infrastructure, government or Defence related programs.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA, or progress towards certification
  • Experience leading teams and delivering assurance engagements in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Exposure to data enabled assurance, analytics or digital Audit approaches.
