Consultant – Environment, Health and Safety 

 

 

The opportunity 

 

As our Environment, Health and Safety Consultant, you will join our growing national health and safety consulting team based in Perth on either a full or part-time basis. 

 

You will work under the mentorship of our industry renowned team leaders, and closely with our clients in Oceania to strategically diagnose health, safety and wellbeing challenges, design and implement the right solutions based on better practice and a risk-based approaches. A key strength of our team is how we apply our diversity of skillsets and professional backgrounds to build the right solutions for our clients based on their specific needs.  

 

This is a hybrid position based in Boorloo – Perth. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options. 

 

Your key responsibilities 

You will work in a leading national team of multidisciplinary health, safety and wellbeing professionals assisting organisations across a range of industries to transform their approach to health, safety and wellbeing. Your responsibilities include:  

  • Contributing to the planning and delivery of projects involving physical and psychosocial risk management, strategy, governance, audit and analytical frameworks, culture change and leadership, to help clients succeed and navigate complex operating and regulatory environments.
  • Contributing to a collaborative and high performing team environment underpinned by coaching and development, while applying technical expertise of health, safety and wellbeing to direct project teams on delivery of EY’s health and safety services.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues and clients, including providing guidance and coaching to Graduates.

 

What we look for  

To be considered for this role you must have 

  • Two to three years of experience in health and safety management systems, auditing, risk management, process safety, property risk, dangerous goods, or equivalent operational experience, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • A curious mindset with a strong desire to learn, grow, and upskill, along with a genuine interest in health, safety, and wellbeing, supported by problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying new opportunities, experience working as part of a high-performing team, and the ability to travel intra and interstate as required.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health and safety, engineering, environmental or health sciences (e.g., psychology), human factors, or business will be highly regarded
  • Exemplar Global Auditor qualifications and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are desirable but not necessary. 
  • Understanding of the design and implementation of EHS management systems.
  • EHS audit experience.
