The Opportunity
As a Senior Consultant you will play an integral role in delivering stimulating projects with big name clients in the private and public sectors. Working alongside and collaborating with experienced workforce planning and talent analytics consultants you will synthesise and analyse both internal and external data to provide strategic insights to clients.


The team is seeking high-calibre professionals with a specific focus in strategic and operational workforce planning (including rostering and operational resource planning). This includes building capability for organisations as well as delivering the insights to drive strategic resourcing for clients. This is an important position requiring both technical knowledge and business awareness, providing opportunities for motivated candidates to contribute to solving complex client projects.


Our projects include a wide variety of areas, including the development of strategic workforce plans, building strategic capability, deployment of new workforce planning and management (scheduling) technology, productivity optimisation and introduction of flexible working arrangements.
The Workforce Strategy, Planning & Analytics team is charged to help achieve a ‘step change’ in the development and execution of our strategic agenda through exceptional client service and delivery. By leveraging data, modelling and analysis the appointed candidate will provide within client projects robust, fact-based insights, that focuses on delivering business benefits and perspectives to facilitate strategic discussions among client teams.


The team’s role includes acting as a trusted advisor to key clients at all levels to enable them to make evidence-based decisions on critical strategic, operational and tactical issues.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant, you will work as part of a successful team to: 

  • Support the design and delivery of workforce planning solutions projects for clients including:
    • Project and resource management
    • Ensuring the quality of output from the project / workstream
    • Overseeing the work of more junior team members
    • Project reporting
    • Engaging and managing senior stakeholders to provide input and support as needed
  • Bring the power of technology - be able to complete quality data analysis and drive insights from organisational data to inform future solutions, using data analytics and workforce planning tools.
  • Deploy strong project execution skills; be able to track timelines and can prioritise activity based on client and internal needs.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder relationships to be able to build trusted relationships with clients and assist the sell on of additional Workforce Planning services.
  • Develop our internal growth in the Workforce Planning practice and take an active role in building our own capabilities, for example through recruitment, developing intellectual capital, developing methods and tools.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Previous experience of strategic or operational workforce planning for a major organisation and/ or consulting experience in delivering solutions for clients
  • Experience of building workforce planning capability for organisations 
  • Experience in identifying and deploying workforce planning and scheduling tools such as Kronos
  • Experience working with data and be able to direct specialist modellers in the development of analysis and insights required for the project.


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • An appreciation of data, systems and technologies used to drive strategic workforce decision making
  • A primary degree and any post graduate degrees and professional qualifications are desirable but not critical e.g. CIPD
  • No requirement for sector specialisation but strong insight into one or more of the following is desirable: Government & Public Sector, Energy & Assets, Consumer Products, Technology & Communications.
